I would tend to agree with you considering how the monster is built. However, that is assuming that the tires are the same size. They aren't. The F201 tires are considerably smaller than sedan tires, and not only that, the front tires are smaller in diameter than the rear, thus causing an overdrive situation. With that in mind, the traditional gear ratio we are accustomed to in sedans, goes right out the door. I will be trying it, and just wanted to know if anyone has had luck with this.

Depends, the smaller tires does help pulling you out of a turn nicely. Cornering with the car is amazing.

Does anyone know if the BMW Williams acts any differently than the Ferrari body and wing set?

If anything, the BMW does have a nicer front wing. Notice it has fewer elements and should provide better downforce upfront. But you know how I feel about the F201...Dial in three everywhere and throw it down

Hmmmmm, nice philosophy.

The BMW body is shaped differently, most notably the air dampers for the rear tires. How did the car feel when you drove it at the Hobby People race that one day?

Dial in three and throw it down...and that was that. I didn't notice any real difference other than that it looks REALLY nice. As for how it felt driving around the track...I was petrified of rolling it over or stuffing it into the boards because it "was" the body that Tamiya used in their display so I can't really give you an accurate account on handling.

Other than that you know what's best with the 201 as it showed at the last TCS

I'll probably just pick up the body and wing set. And extra arms too. Oh and the high speed gear set.

Neil, sorry, yes that was in WA.

OVA, I was just hoping to have some people run these cars there. IF we were to run them, then I RECOMENDED a motor for the track, nothing else...

As for the difference between the bodies. The Williams I believe has more front grip. And WHEN you hit the walls the wing bends down instead of up, which will equall more down force, or less lift than the original, or ferrari bodies...

La Mirada Raceway
RC Comp (Citrus College)
Tamiya America Facility (This is where we finish our first season)
