Actually you can use any gearing that was designed for the F201....hence the two gear sets stock or the high speed. The guys at Tamiya have been running the Monster with the High speed down there!! With no problems...does come off the track a little hot...but so far no explosions!!

I use the MTroniks Tempo ESC w/1-touch setup and it works fine with the stock kit supplied motor. I recently put in a Kawada 12T in my F201 with the stock gearing. It takes longer for the 12T to spin-up than the stock motor. With the stock motor, power is on tap instantly. With the 12T, it takes over 30% throttle before the motor spins up. Is it because it is overgeared? The Mtroniks Tempo is rated at 12T and over. I use TowerHobbies 1500mAh sports packs.

Yeah, you're overgeared for a 12T motor. You should be somewhere around the 9:1 range for that motor to perform well. You run the risk of burning it up with that low of gearing.

I found out why the 12T isn't spinning up as fast as the stock motor....it wasn't getting enough amps! It turns out that my 1500mAh sports pack wasn't fully charged. I put in a fresh pack and the 12T motor spins up instantly. That only last 2-3mins though ....

Just received the Williams BMW FW24 body set from Japan. Detail and decals set is awesome...the body looks so much nicer than the Farrari. Can't wait to get it painted and mounted. The matching Wheelset looks equally good...

I agree. I was one over the weekend. The front wing looks trick! My old one is still in pretty good shape, so I'll wait until they are released in the US.

Probably not...the F201 has a longer wheel base.

is there a front one-way available for the F201? Tamiya or Third party?

I was thinking that a TBEVO unit might fit?

once i sort out a new toy (MR4 SD?) and find some time to mess around with it... then i have to think about new packs (3300) and motors (brushless?) as my source has virtually dried up...
