The right side of the body just ahead of the battery strap is ample room for mounting the handout brick... uh transponder.I use a personal transponder that sits atop the right battery strap.
The Pit hards are the ones I use and I also use traction compound with tyre warmers.Let me tell you about traction.WOW Enought to freak you out in the first corner if you aren't used to it.I am running on Ozite tho.The car handles similar to a well tuned tourer on good rubber. It has slight push exiting turns on power and braking into corners should definately be avoided as the rear can come around still.Transition from corner to corner in tight infield sections are very easy to navigate as the car is quite responsive (no delay)but it is very easy to take corners too tight and break front suspension.Enjoy the car.

If you look on the lexan body sheet there is a small tab with cutlines (at least on the Ferrari Kit).....this tab is then supposed to be taped to the motor guard and the transponder mounted to it according to the Tamiya website.

funny thing is that i have been asked many times by people what it is like (when they watch me on the track) and i always have only been able to respond with "it has a feeling like none other i have driven" (and i've tested all the waters when it comes to EP)..but now i can give them somewhat of a better answer now...that description is the closest to what i feel it drives like..But you really have to drive one to get a grasp...

I've said it before and i'll say it again...it drives like none other...lots-o-fun..

Osherman,

I agree, these F201 are waaay too much fun. In fact, the Tamiya locals are beginning to call them FUN201...hehehe. By the way, will you be bringing your F201 to the Toys for Tots race? It will be the first round of our points series and if everyone that is on the list decides to show, we'll have around 20 F201 out there

Steve: why don't you submit your race series information to us over at Formula 1 R/C so we can post it in the news section. Might get some more people to show up that don't know about it.

Is there a website dedicated to Tamiya's track? I would like to get some info on it (I may be in the area this summer and would like to race/practice there if I can).

We finally got an F1 race! I have anF103 for a year now, and it just got to race for the first time, 5 f201 and 2 f103, everybody were so excited that fellow club members were more excited to see it than that of the Modified and open stock. After the race the sedan boys were already thinkin of buying f1 kits also. We use sport tuned motors, the 103 were faster in the straights and the 201 were dominating the corners, the results were very good, and the crowd were treated like they were in the real F1 race!

Wilfred,

That's great to hear

Osherman,

Will you be joining our point series? Also, Charlie just informed me that La Mirada will be racing this Sunday (8th) and quite a few of the F201 guys are heading out there. The Toys for Tots is still on next Sunday

Hope to see you there.
