Did I just find out the hard way that the bodies that come with the F201 don't have an overspray film?

Tamiya has never put film on their F1 bodies for some reason. Get some body wash to clean the overspray.

Man,

I wish Tamiya would release an Graphite or FRP chassis for the F201. The class is awesome...but the overheating meltaway chassis is holding it back and keeping folks from running it...as well as the constant roumor that the chassis is going away!

If they allowed the F-201 to use an graphite/plate chassis I believe the class would boom!

I also think they could run stock and mod (19x)!

Loking at your guys chassis' I wish I lived near you guys...Id love to race the 201's more than 1x per year (TCS) shame the car hasn't gone mainstream...its a heck of alot of fun!

This is for herc. Its not a slam, but that doesn,t make sense or fall into the spirit of tcs races. I will agree with you that running stock motors in the f201 cooks them, but it is mainly because of the gearing, which is fixed, are you now proposing that the motor mount is adjustable and so is the gearing, see were I am going with this. Any way aftermarket chasis have never been allowed in any tcs format and it shouldn,t start now. I ran my car at the last tcs race with the 19t motor and had no issuue with overheating, and I ran the same brushes for all three qualifiers, and a new set for the mains, and they didn,t even chage colors.Actually the f201 is probably the closest thing you can get to a modified spec class, if you were to open it up for all these other aftermarket parts were does it end. Just my opinion.

I'm saying Tamiya could easily produce an Graphite or FRP chassis...would make the class much better.

F-1 cars are racings best...don't settle for meltaway "Drill holes around the motor" fixes!

I love TCS, I love F201...I just don't think they are setting it up for success...watch it'll be gone next season unfortunatley..and replaced with the 103.

I still think the class could be fixed...and popular/mainstream even!

I concur It would have not been a big thing for Tamiya to come out with a carbon fiber chassis kit for an upgrade. I for one was left flat with the F201 from the day I first got it!
It was like driving a battleship on land no gearing ops! a few bodies. wheels and tires Well need I say more. I for one have not gone to a TCS event because they did away with the F103 all the Money we spend on this Hobby you think a company would stand by its product and keep making parts!

Now I make a Chassis for the F201 and we see lap times with a 19t motor getting up there and turning the same lap times as the people with the TCS setup cars running mods .

So I say so long to the F201 It will be missed!!!!!! we are making other F1 cars as well we have a 2WD belt car coming out and 1/10 2WD Nitro F1 a T/Plate F1 car and maybe by the New Year a 1/8 scale F1 Nitro!

Oh and that is a 72 48p spur gear on this chassis!

here is a look at T/plate with foams on it because I am not done with the rear wheel adapters and rear wing mount!. We might even make a car to run in the class as the F103GT!!!!!! and kick the crap out of it!

You see what I mean!!

Those pictures say it all!

F-1 is the pinnacle of racing (no disrespect ment) but to be limited when the chassis is so close to being great is amazing to me! A Tuned Chassis car with the same plastic "drill out the cheese holes" chassis is not the answer! Tamiya does not need a new class...it needs to "tweak" its awesome (but faultering) F201 class...dont give up on it...a plate chassis is a breath of fresh air in this car!

I'd buy it/race it!

Heck Snowbirds had a sprint class!

Hi All F1 Fans, how about those V8 today Go Cosworth.

Have you tried to install a Orion li-po battery into any of your carbon F1 Chassises yet and if so how does the car run. I see Long F1 racing in the future
