Default Quick question

Why do touring cars still have a slight advantage lap time wise over F1 cars?

I think tires is one of the key reason. There are much more choices and better compound for touring cars than there are for F201. I tried my F201 one time with touring car tires on (it was ugly...) however, just with that one simple change I was able to keep up with most touring cars on the track that day with similar motor power.

If you are planing on comeing to the TCS race at Trackside, Jack the Gripper is the only tire sauce allowed.

I agree with you steve, f201 needs more competetive tires than just a's and b's...yes they look scale but they dont serve the purpose to go fast( wining the race) maybe tamiya could think about making more race friendly instead of scale friendly tires

HI, MLP Motorsports Int ( www.mlpmotorsports.net ) Is making a new Body For the F201 if you didn't see the post's and we will also be offering 3 belted slick rubber tire compounds as well as a set of Foams also by Spring along with a New F2006 F1 2WD Car and Later in the year a 4WD Belt Car and Nitro 2WD Car.

The Body and Tires are for these cars we are making but the same wheelbase and mounting as the F201.

The Body will look just like the bodies F1 ran last year (2005).

The tires will be Front 32mm wide with a 26mm patch and the Rear will be 40mm wide with a 38mm patch.

hi! I recently purchased an F201. Out of the box, it felt like it lacked some top end. Is it the "super stock" Tamiya motor or can I make adjustments to the pinion?? the 20T pinion is installed now. What is the internal ratio of the F201? thanks!

High Spead Gear set is 52/23

2.6 to 1

For example: Kit spur = 55T Kit pinion = 20T Internal ratio on F201 = 2.6 55/20=2.75 2.75*2.6=7.15 expressed as a ratio: 7.15:1 I hope that helps.
