Default Carpet Noob question

The only track I've driven at is the Tamiya track which is asphalt and very nice I might add. Anyways I am going to try a carpet track (TQraceway) for the first time for the TCS and wondering if there is any major set up changes that differ from asphalt that might help? Also I have a TA05 v2 that currently has a ball diff with a spool up front, but just got a gear diff too. Would one work better than the other? As for the tire, everyone has to use B3's since it's TCS. Thank you for any help

I just went to TQ for the first time and while i'm new to onroad I found the traction there to be very good. The track requires that you use either of the following sauces

SXT 3.0
Jack the Gripper

All of them are available there. The traction is so high that your asphalt setup will have to be changed over to a high grip setup (thick oils, bars, springs) and then go from there to see what you need to suit the layout.

Have fun there, I know I did!

Here are a few things to try

- Go up 10wt in shock oil
- Stand shocks up more
- less rear toe (2.5 - 2.0)
- less droop
- lower height in front (get more weight transfer to the front for corners)
- More camber
- Higher roll center (reduce chassis roll/grip)
- 28-32 tires and harder inserts

Hey Dirt

I believe, Sean, the owner of TQRC runs a TA05 as well
Hit him up for a setup
I would reccomend Saturday practice if you have the time

You could also post your question on the TQ thread
Might get more hits
