Hope you got the real SAK-X27 SSK Driveshaft For Sakura XI ones, there are some real cheap knock offs on ebay for like $13 .... but they don't last long ... https://www.ebay.com/itm/3Racing-SSK...wuMFUmONY#rwid

Another fun race day with the XI twins, finished 2nd in both VTA & 21.5, just seconds behind 1st .... maybe next time
My 21.5TC still box stock (minus servo mount) is really easy & consistent to drive using the basic manual setup with some small changes to alignment and droop.

Finally managed to break something, coming out of long sweeper under power with the wheels turned clipped the edge of a pipe ... hard.

Yeah.. I saw the cheapos on Ebay. I decided to not mess around and get the real ones. I figured they'd pay for themselves with the longevity.

Is it just better for one to get their hands on the sakura ultimate over the sakura xi nu? Im liking the way these look im seeing the nu gor for about 110 & the ultimate anywhere from 172 to 250.

ultimate has the higher trim level with carbon fiber chassis, short damper and aluminum parts. They apoears to share suspension so getting hubs and arms should not be a problem.

Seems like tracking down the ultimate is the way to go.

I feel most folks who run the XI sport try and keep it close to stock as possible with exceptions of maybe springs, sway bars and floating servo mount. With intentions of keeping cost down and bang for buck up. You can still get them to the top of your main with set up effort of course. The Ultimate would be a much more competitive car if you are looking to go all out and try to be super competitive in 17.5 lets say or looking to run mod

There were some on Ebay a few weeks ago. I contemplated the Ultimate versus the NU and figured I'd go NU. I'm still learning so the lower investment is nice and I don't mind taking it in the parking lot every now and again for practice. The NU handles very well to me. If I could actually drive the car I think it would be competitive.

I have seen them on eBay. Not the all alloy one of course. I know my not so local hobby shop can get me an NU but i like the carbon fiber as opposed to the FRP chasis. I have a Losi JRX-S Type R but I'm kinda scared to run it as parts seem to be hard to come by and i may just turn it into a drifter. Im still learning more of a forum lurker ever learning but i need to get my foot into the pond and this may just do it for me.

the ultimate and xi share 90% of the same parts, think of tbe ultimate as a fully tricked out xi, both will be competetive out of the box, both will get you to the same place at the end of the day. The xi will be a little easier to set up & drive thanks to the extra flex of the frp chassis.
really comes down to how much you want to spend and how long you want to wait for the kit, you will be happy with either one.

I spoke to a local hobby shop rep they said that the carbon fiber for the ULTIMATE14 seemed brittle to them. I do have someone trying to possibly sell me a used ADVANCE. Debating if because of price new wouldnt be the better option. I do like the bling of the ULTIMATE and ADVANCE as opposed to the plastics of the bulkheads of the XI NU

Started building a new xi for 17.5 ... some wheels make a great jig for bleeding shocks.

In my 30+ years in this hobby its never been more inexpensive then it is now to race at the club level, I remember spending $60 on a bearing kit, $90 on a NOVAK T4 esc or $100 for a 1700 SCE battery

Ready to go for next weekend! Had to RTV the diff to keep it from leaking but everything else seems good. I also thinned the diff case to get the internals tighter. I removed something like 0.5mm The shocks are Yeah racing parts with 3Racing bottoms and Tamiya springs.

Common problem with the TD10 from hobbyking, just rebuild with 3Racing parts
