Default Recommended roll out for a 5.5 motor in a 1/12th pan car?

Hey Guys,

I'm getting into mod pan car racing. I want to know what a good starting point is for a 5.5 motor? I've looked all over the net and couldn't find much.

Any help will be appreciated

Thank you

Put a 26/96 on it or something thereabouts. Temps will be dictated by the amount of boost you are running far more than the rollout you are using and your motor will never really get hot (my 4.0 with a fair amount of boost never gets above 120 F). Also, use a fan on your speedo.

What Lloyd said...

I was looking this up from Keven Hebert:

"In 1/12, the lrp motor (4.5) is very powerfull so I would start with a mild setup on the esc. I would probably start at 25/96 for gear, and would use 4/0/3/2/5/0/0 for esc (LRP) setting and see how it works from there. The first mode is drag brake I put 4 just as a starting point but this is really a drivers preference and even from motor to motor it could differ so that will need to be adjusted again I would guess. "

Mod 1/12 is tough. The fast guys are running 4.0's and 3.5 with boost now. The batteries let you run wide open for the full 8 min. Make sure your setup is perfect and run the right tires (Pink or Mag fronts and Pink rears) or you will detonate your car.

Try asking the guys you plan on running with what range of rollout they run. It's a thing where if your asking, I wish you the best of luck.
