Default Runtime with 6T mod

Hi,

I know some of you are racing with the HOT 6T mod motors, since the new GP3700 and IB3800 are out now I was wondering if it was easier or at least possible to make runtime in 5mn races?

I heard some racers were making it with the last batch of 3300

Could you share your experiences with the 6T racing and give your motor setup and gearing and maybe you batterie charging setup

I hope some will find interest in this thread, I m sure 6T will be common to use soon, I even heard rumors that peak/orion drivers were using 6/5T motors at the Reedy race last year!

Thanks!

Trying to run a motor as fast as a 6 turn is not an easy thing to do. You have to be a very smooth with the throttle. With the newer higher capacity cells it'll be a little easier to make run time but you still have to know how to do it. There were a few guys running 5's at Reedy last year and I'm sure there will be some doing it again in a couple weeks. But even the best drivers in the world can sometimes have a hard time making 5 with that mush motor.

I don't have any proof, but I was told that Hara ran a 5 in two of his Invite races last year and watching him yank every car on the track by 10 or more feet down the straight it wouldn't surprise me.

I've heard there was a different brush but I don't know any of the details about it.

Is that what you're running at Reedy? Eddie wanted me to run Cobalt motors. I haven't had the best luck with V2 motors.

I understand some drivers used 5T but is it really worth it since you have to be so carefull on the throttle?

Also, I m sure the guys running 5 and 6T will be using V2 as they are more efficient but also a little less powerfull

A 6T V2 would be as fast as a 7T cobalt or Ti type motor but then you also have the different types of blank armatures that changes the powerband

I still think the V2 lacks bottom end rip and running 5/6T helps to compensate....you wont hear about a guy that runs a 5T Ti motor at the Reedy race coming up!

Cheers!
