Default 1/12 1/10.....

it seems that the 1/10 class is more popular than the 1/12 class and it is so true here in our place.....nobody runs 1/12 and i even havent seen any 1/12 run (saw it only on CD coverage of the 2004 worlds) honestly, 1/12 looks good on TV-- the race between hara and hirosaka was breathtaking!however, how come 1/10 is more popular?

i see a lot of advantages with 1/12----it is cheaper, the race is longer, the car looks simpler and i would say easier to work on 9although i havent really tried).....how come 1/10 is more popular? is 1/12 harder to drive? less fun? which could be faster?

1/10 touring is easier to drive on many different surfaces

1/12 is considered to be a class for more experienced racers

i even notice that magazines cover more 1/10 events and that more 1/10 cars are in the spotlight than 1/12 kits. im really baffled.....somebody even told me that 1/12 is even faster than 1/10.....HOW COME 1/10 is more POPULAR when it is more expensive?

so, 1/12 is more sensitive to track variations? the worlds hold 1/12 and 1/10 together.....

so 1/12 is harder ot drive? how come? hard to handle because of its design or is it hard to drive because its fast? could be the 2wd/ 4wd factor?

Yeah I know because at big events, the track is prepped very well.

But for bashing or smaller events, 1/10 touring can be driven on rougher track situations.

I wouldnt bet on it!hehehehehehe i havent heard anyone running 1/12 cars here. 1/10 ep tc is the hit here. there are some gp racers but electric boys outnumber them.

I agree... Personally, I haven't seen a 1/12 car yet and how fast it goes. the 1/18 scale may even be more popular here than the 1/12.

hey grf,

good to hear from you.....for us, it would be good to have 1/12 class here because its alot cheaper and a lot faster.......i have seen the 1/12 run 9it was on a CD0 and they are wicked fast and the run times were a lot longer. with the new batteries, 1/12 can probably run 10 mins mains!

No.... Not that I know of... At least here in Cebu, 1/10 is the hit, be it GP or EP. Do you run 1/5 scale there? I'm quite new to the hobby and I've only heard of the 1/8 scale.
