Default For what its worth

Is it worthwhile buying bars, cells, wires and solder to build a pack which may cost $40 compared to a premade pack with lower quality yet still decent stick packfor $25. The cells are ib3300 vs normal 3000 common cells? Im new to racing and I aint yet got top notch equipment

That really depends on what level of racing you do. If you're not racing or racing a beginner class, it is probably not worthwhile to build your own battery packs, except to gain the experience. The advantage (besides performance) of building your own batteries is the fact that you can hardwire (no more plugs to deal with).

Just buy stick packs now. Stormer Hobbies has some good prices on stick packs. 10 1500mah ni-cd packs for 60 bucks. Or 1 3000mah ni-mh pack for 40. www.stormerhobbies.com When your skills progress and you think the only way to go faster is to get matched packs then get them. Just worry about the basics now.

Check out the promatch battery site. They sell premade packs, assembled however you want, at a pretty reasonable price. They have some good deals if you buy three packs also. I believe the url is:

Half-A$$ Racing - Problem solved, problem staying solved!
Awesomatix - Serpent - Tekin - Futaba - Cooper Motorsports.
