We've been using .2-.3 mm brass motor shims with some success.. there will likely be a bit of fitting to ensure that it doesn't bind; should still fall under it's own weight. It will remove much of the 'back and forth' of the caster block... It's not a perfect solution, but should minimize most of it... hope it helps..

Are you only using one per caster block, and do you have to file and modified the caster block ?
Do you have these shims on stock ?

Guys a quick suspension geometry question.
A few guys at my local do not like how the mi5 handles, one guy who really doesnt like his ill give as an example.
Springs -HPI (cant remember the rating, although im pretty sure the mi5 has specialised fitting springs)
Shock placement, front - 1 hole inward from centre, rear - 1 hole outward from centre
He also adjusted his caster slightly with the washer under the ball cup jobby etc.
Either way ive seen it drive and its all over the shop.
Mine however is very much, kit..except the shocks are layed down front and rear, all the way except 1 hole, and i have 45wt front 40wt rear oil, and green kit springs, have not messed with the washers n all that nonsense yet. Mine drives great! i love it, and the others prefer it to.
See, do they not know how to set a car up for toffee or is there sense in especially their shock mounting position, i always thought you work things in symmetry..not the opposite
i hope this posts makes enough sense to get a decent reply out of because this one guys car in particular really doesnt handle but i dunno if thats because he cant set up for toffee.

there are numerous set up sheets around, that has great set-up information. Did your friend drive your car? did he like the way it drove? if he did, why didn't he change his car? is he just being obstinate?
some people you just cant please. so it is that persons problem.

See this is what i thought, he did have a go with my car but then began to complain that i use a wheel n not sticks so his bad driving was then put down to that ..
he hasnt even followed a setup sheet i dont think, it looks like he went kit..then started fiddling..and then got stuck in a black hole of false positives.
but either way he preferred his Xray and regrets buying the mi5 now LOL oh well cant please em all, my MI5 has been the perfect introduction into TC leading me to constant pole positions

So thought it was about time I posted up some pics of my Mi5. Only had one meeting on it so far, and went pretty well. Couple of normal new car niggles, and made pretty sweeping setup changes all night to get a feel for what does what.
Found the car to have great initial steering, and very good on power traction (even dropping to the 2pip arms!). Interestingly, found that the car doesn't seem to roll or pitch too much, and can cope with running harder springs than I would normally use on a very bumpy track. Main area that I found needs a little work is making the steering a bit more linear, and mid corner grip, as that seems to be hurting the front tyre life.
Should be hitting the track again tomorrow, and have a host of new parts to try, including rear braces, ackerman plates, and extra top deck braces. Last chance to really get the car sorted before the state titles next weekend.
Some eagle eyes may notice that I've gone for a bit of a black/silver look, and coutersunk as many screw points as possible... they just look nicer

V2 pins and blocks now in stock..

the v2 block has less chamfer i believe so it wont strip as easily as the first versions
