In case anyone is wondering about the V2 kit.
It includes all the V1 parts with the V2 updated parts crammed into the box so you get twice the plastics as originally shipped. Nice deal for the same price as the V1 kit alone!
They probably couldn't fit anything else into the box without breaking the seams.
When I got my V2, it looks like TD cut the seal and stuffed more parts in and resealed it with V2 stickers. The new arms are really nice and do away with the molded ball ends for the swaybar mounts for metal ones. I can't wait to get out to the track to get her dialed in.

Default DETC410 NEW USER

hello there, i'm a new user for the durango detc410. in my local track we run 13.5T motor and i would like to know which spur/pinion config do you guys recommend. i was racing with and old kyosho tf5 ready set, but the car it came to a dead end. so i purchased the durango.

in the kyosho i had 88T 64P spur/50T 64P pinion, but the durango doesn't give me that option, the biggest pinion i can put in there is 37T 64P, perhaps an 40T but i don't know.

i would be swell if you guys can help me out.

best regards

you will want to achieve an FDR of around 3.8 - 4.2 for 13.5t on most tracks. To get in that range you will need a spur gear of 96t - 100t. There are many gear charts apps out there so I would strongly recommend getting something that calculates FDR (Final Drive Ratio). The DETC410 internal ratio is 1.95 so a 100t spur with a 50t pinion will achieve a 3.9:1 FDR. This is based on a 64p gear set. Alternatively, a 96t spur and 48t pinion will achieve the same. Your Kyosho was set for 4.7:1 as it looks like they used is a brushed motor. What 13.5 system are you going to use in your Durango?

the same setting of the kyosho: trinity D4 13.5t motor, hobbywing juststock esc.

ok i understand what you're saying but in my durango doesn't fit any pinion above 37t64p because it'll hit with the top deck.

thanks for the reply

That doesn't sound right... can you post a picture?
I run pinions over 50t 64p with no problems.
Are you racing or bashing? This will determine the kind of advice you want to look for. If you are racing, you will want to keep some 100t spurs on hand and 44t -50t pinions for running 13.5t motors in "blinky" classes.

as i was taking the picture from above the car, i saw a slot that i believe that it's simply a pocket for the pinion, but plz correct me if i'm wrong.

You're missing the spacers between the spur mount and top deck, they keep the top deck straight when using those screws.

yes thats right, i've allready check with the manual and does have those spacers between the spur mount and topdeck. let me change that and re-check the fit of 50t pinion.

thanks

hey YoDog, as you were saying, indeed the 50t64p pinion does fit.

if you don't pull down the motor you just must loosen the top deck screws a bit and then bend it up so the pinion can go through.

also i was missing the four spacers, thanks to ekt for that.

i'll be posting some pics and vids of the car on the track.

best regards

Just when I looked at the side view pic, I noticed the spacers were missing as well but was beaten to the punch. The gap is designed in as a tuning option so that there is no contact between the top deck and lay shaft support when the screws are removed allowing for more rear flex. I have yet to see a setup that does this though.

Here's Team Durango's gear chart to give you an idea of what pinions can fit http://www.team-durango.com/pdf/gear...ar%20Chart.pdf
