Thanks Phil, the alloy piece on the end of the shaft is whats bent :-(, tamiya list the axle as one part (alloy and carbon shaft)and i havnt had any job seperating the shaft yet

you can use a f104 carbon axle and a f104 aluminum diff instead , but it's more expensive of course. (then you can run at least)

Ok. Matt - drop me a note if you want to. I also have spare diff assembly. It's missing the diff rings. Probably won't be racing Tuesday night due to a school meeting, but you could always drop in to the State Titles

About to get my car on the track for the first time. Does anyone have a starting setup for low-medium grip carpet. The track is fairly small and technical. I'll be running the Tamiya/Pit tires.

I've heard that there will be a second run on the production of this car in november.
It's mentioned by Fred Medel (atleast i think that's his name) of tamiya usa.
That's good news for spare parts.

Any that have tester the other pivot link positions?
Most still just run the standard configuration here.

As we have a couple of races with a silvercan motor and yesterday i was trying to fit the silvercan in the car and to my surprise this motor doesn't fit without using a dremel or file on the motormount.
I've already ordered me a second motormount to be able to use the silvercan motor and still have a spare motormount

@Marklas,

I'm planning to do some testing with the side links, just need to find the time for it

I got my car on the track for a few shakedown runs this Saturday after letting it collect dust for the past 4 months. I used the kit setup on our small med grip carpet track just to see how it would handle.

I was pleasantly surprised how hooked up the car was the minute it hit the track. The rear end was very planted, a little to much because it was pushing in the sweeper at the end of the straight, but the car was amazingly stable through the rest of the track. I know it has been said before, but I could get on the throttle much earlier and harder than I ever could with my V2.

The next outing with the car will be our club race in two weeks. I need to drop the front ride height, it was at 6mm with the kit setup, and dial out the brakes in my ESC and then really give the car a proper test.

I found on mine that when I moved the link to the inside hole on the motor pod it helped mine hook up better on a low to med. grip asphalt track. Have not had a chance to try out carpet setups yet. still in the middle hole on the chassis.

I've tested all 3 settings on carpet using pits 572/571 and liked the outside link positions the most.

The inside link position gives the most traction but made the car push mid corner out.

The middle position I felt the steering was numb and would push going out of the corner.

The outside position gave most steering going in and out of corner.
I also tried middle on chassis outside on pod but lap times were faster with the links to the outside.

Ran my TRF101 for the first time yesterday and loved it. I picked up almost a full second a lap over my previous F1. This car gave me the confidence to go faster and just push it that much more.

I just have 1 question. Anyone know if the Tamiya McClaren body kit will fit on the TRF101?

Some trimming of the front nose section to allow for the upper arms, and the rear side pod to clear the side links and spring perch.
