There were no official hopups or spares for trf101 other than the screw set.

I would be curious to know if trf101 will be legal for next TCS season.

I was talking in generalities about Tamiya modus operandi. In the case of the 101, I would have bought a spare kit just for parts (if I had bought one).

At Nationals Fred said the car would be legal.
The 104 axle parts drop right in and with an aftermarket spur you have the same diff.

For the limited edition kits Tamiya makes one batch of kits and see how they sell. If there is the possibility that there are enough pre orders to sell out a new batch they might do another run at a later date, but that's highly unlikely for the TRF101. Same with the spare parts, they do one batch and once they are gone they are gone.

If anyone wants the front end parts the Tech Racing FCP010 parts are pretty similar.

This will make the rear end wider though right? As I understood it, the pod itself was wider and to compensate, Tamiya pinned the right diff ring retainer to the axle. This in turn eliminated extra material needed. I thought the RR hub was also shorter.

Has anyone tried to put the 104 axle setup on the TRF101 pod? I am curious now if there is a big width difference.

Thats the way tamiya does their limited editions, short runs with an anual replacement.

We speak with Fred Medel, Marketing Manager Tamiya USA, to try to answer your questions about the TRF 101 being discontinued.

Clearly a bad news for the TRF owners, it would be difficult to find some parts now ...

Should I get one for a shelf queen ? If I ever race it I'm not worried about parts.

Hi.

Will these in the TRF 101?

Tamiya (#54158) F104 Diff. Housing Set
Tamiya (#54162) F104 Carbon Rear

If yes, is it a direct fit or you have to modify something? Also, in terms of width, will there be a difference also?

Thanks.
