@ RTYPEC: great job documenting your build. I am somewhat less anxious to get my build now. I would rather read your posts first and get any nugget of golden information before I start my own project.

Looks like I will be investing in a good Dremel set.

Thanks for the picture.. I was wondering if anyone would be using a diffuser on this kit. Nevertheless I am excited to know that my kit is going to arrive before the end of the this month.

anybody here order from stella models before? if so did you get dinged with border or duty costs?

And they are THE masters in packaging, you'll notice it when the package arrivés. There is no other seller that do so much efford on the packaging.
I've ordered many kits from them and never had any issues with them, not even with customs.

The side links and pillow ball are the same parts from f104v2, aren't they? The lower front arms also.

had a run tonight with the TRF 101 and first impressions where good. Track temps low around 15 degrees C and a very dusty outdoor asphalt unprepared track.

car was setup as per manual except I used 2000wt diff oil in roll damper and first run noticed the rear would step out. Changed the side springs from silver to gold and the car was a lot better thru the sweepers. Used Shimizu 571 front and 575 rear and car TQ'd the 2 x 8min heats. Car if anything had some mid corner understeer.

Made a couple of changes for the 15min final and must say car wasn't as good. Went to Shimizu 572 rear and soft grease in roll damper and car just wouldn't rotate and kept skipping sideways. Admittedly, I could hear diff slipping from the drivers stand so that was not ideal.

Overall it was a good starting point. Would like to work on mid corner steering, and like all F1's tires are the key.

Had a few screws wiggle loose and even those that I applied thread lock to, so make use you apply it generously.

Pillow balls and side links are the same as v2.

Kit does not come with wheels.

I just have to install esc and motor and I'll post some pics

Grats on the new TRF

imo 2k roll damper is very soft

With the WGP/X1, 10k-50k was a good range of roll damper fluid
Remember that 1 roll damper is doing the job normally taken by two side dampers on a pan car rear end

Tamiya Soft, Med, Hard Damper grease are even better options if you can find them

So for those who have the car already, what's the deal with setting ride height? What is the range front and rear that you're able to set height?

Still waiting to get a kit in my hands but at the droop post it calls out a mm measurement on the setup sheet. That should mean its an adjustment area for the car. Looks like 4mm-ish from the kit if you add spacers there you should be able to lower front ride height. In the pic above the screws are missing on the upper arms where I am saying the adjustment should be.

Should also be a TCS legal area for adjustment....if the car is allowed to run.
