Sprint flux

don't go with a sprint. Hard to get it setup for drift, the back just doesn't like to hold a slide. go with the MST rtr drift car if rtr is what you really need.

I ended up doing this custom front motor, front servo setup. It required extra parts, and dremeling. Im not sure that is what you want to do.

What about a tt01 for him?

the ackerman is still off on my car. (the front wheels are parallel, not ideal) but since it will be drift, it should be ok. the spur also should be swapped to the other side on my car.

Ehhhh... for the price of a tt01, might as well go with the 3 racing d3 drift car. 125 for the car, Add a flyky remote 35, cheap brushless system for 60, servo for 20, body for 25 some raikou drift tires for 20. Puts you at around 290. It is a CS chassis though. Not good for beginner.

the tt01 would be ok, but he would quickly grow out of it.

Hi, I would not touch an HPI car. They are having many problems with providing spare
parts for their products. The HPI Flux is an old design. Read the Thread on the problems HPI is having since bought by Hobicco, Regards
