Default GTP2e Weight- Aluminum vs. CF.

In case someone else might be wondering the difference. If this info is in the other GTP2e thread, I was not about to go looking through millions of posts..

All the aluminum parts weigh 15.4 oz. EDIT: with the plactic side guards.

All the replacement CF parts weigh 8.5oz.

That's a difference of 6.9oz or just a little more weight then 1/2 a can of beer.

A pic of the front, not done with the rear yet.

Will do.

I understand the motor will loose some heat through the mount and into the chassis but I'm really not worried about that. I've got some big pinions coming, my plans are to blast it up and down the street a few times.

On the stock chassis the ESC and motor never saw over 110 degrees using a 6s in 50 degree weather, that was using my exergen, I know that's going up as the weather gets hotter.

The servo mount is the stock one, I just cut the RX box off because it looked like a giant RC hemorrhoid. I actually just took more off, now I can get at the pinions much easier!

Added a 30T pinion, it was tight with the stock mount. I took the motor off, and took some material off the washers. The washers on the bolts were stopping the motor from going all the way out. It fits in nice now.

I did the dual castle fan too.

Thanks!

Yes I plugged the fan straight into the RX. It's wired parallel so it's got the heat shrink tube holding 4 wires.

Done with this thing. I decided to do the single fan, if it overheats I'll try that dual tank fan thing I got in the pic above.

It's weight without a battery is 6lb 14.1oz

Weight with 6s pack is 8lb 3.8oz

Time to run it down the street with the GPS.

Those^^ are some BIG fans! That chassis looks good!

I had to paint the CF. I saw a pic in here and I had to do it. It amazes me how clear a phone pic is. Looking at it live you cant see any dust. Some angles look like it's missing paint, I can assure that it's the glare from the flash, it does no justice.

I had to get the drag link too

Those are Mugen spares. I have to say, they actually stop the bones from moving around in the cups, it cut back lots of rattle noise. I used a dab of CA on the shaft to hold it in the middle of both cups. I'm thinking about ordering some more for the whole rig.
