A new track in southern FL already had arranged to purchase it after the race.

People tend to forget that was the purpose of creating the vta class, creating an outlet where you could race older tc's chassis economically. For some reason now people waste their money buying the latest tc models and dumbing them down from their full capabilities. It really boggles my mind.

I think they should have put a born on date rule to the VTA cars of at least two years old. This would create bigger use car market for the people that like to trade their cars every year or two. Both buyers and sellers could benefit from this.

Thanks for the information. I thought I would be too late, but it doesn't hurt to check. I am a volunteer with the Hadley JH RC Club and we need to replace some of our carpet.

It's too late. Too many new cars in the class already.

Not really too late, it could be gradually implemented. Like for example: starting in 2015, no 2015 cars would be eligible then in 2016 no cars newer than 2 years old could be eligible.

It would be difficult due to people modding thier cars. Example, an xray T4 13 with the 14 hinge pin blocks.

That would still be considered a 2013 car unless is using the oem parts then it shall be considered a 14 car. I Don't see any problem with this. It helps the aftermarket companies in any case.

I borrowed the xxx-s for the snowbirds. The weekend before the race I put 5 batteries thru the car (the first time ever driving a VTA car) to try and figure out the unique aspects of the VTA class. Had I had a more prep time with the car I could have done better. Thru the week I was still coming to terms with the tires...The car was faster than my ability to drive it....look at the lap times. I'm pretty sure the old Losiasourus laid down the hot lap....

Had somebody accustomed to driving VTA cars been piloting the car they very well could have won the whole thing.....with a $25 car! There is not a need for a rule concerning the "born on date" for a VTA chassis. Set up a car properly and the current rules do an excellent job leveling the field.

This is my point precisely. The class was created to bring value to an older chassis, this helps the guy that buys a new tc every year and a prospective r/c racer to start the hobby at a lower cost. You definitely don't need the newest tc to race vta; is a waste, but to the eyes of newcomers they may believe that they're under a disadvantage because they're not running the latest car. This is the only reason for a rule like it ( born on date).

We need to keep finding ways to increase the amount of hobbyists in this economy. We do this by keeping the entry level racers cost as low as possible.
