I had one briefly, but quickly moved it on. More tweak than any other car I've had in the past 10 years, you could actually hear the top-deck moving against the bulkheads when you flexed the car in your hands.

I think that's why the CGM came out shortly afterwards, which fixed the tweak issues (although added a lot of weight).

If you can find an Andy East fibrelyte tub-chassis version that would be the best. No tweak and light-weight.

The original SSG is total crap. As I'm currently running the BD7 I would still like to try the LCG version tho'.

Raced the car very happily for three years back in the day.

Tweak issue was solved by removing the centre stiffener. A few changes to the front roll centre and rear toe and the car was very well balanced.

I wouldn't want to go back to one now as times have moved on (spools, brushless, lipo, lower weight limit etc.) - but there was no problem with the car in 2003 when it came out.

The car is still competitive. I still pull mine out of retirement every now and then, always with good results. There are a number of options to run spools/gear diffs, etc in it. Drift cars based on the chassis have basically the same bulkhead/gearbox setup so anything is a direct swap. Brilliant car if you take good care of it. As with all Yokomo cars, a number of parts from earlier/later cars still fit straight in.
