Got my rsg2 and soldered it all in my mi5. Running lrp x12 13.5 /7.29 fdr, we race carpet high grip in a sports hall with 84' x 49' (ish) noticed the leaflet that came with it says drop boost by 25 degrees. Any one else tried it in tc?

Liking the new ESC. Just wondering what the max operating temperature of the motor is, since im assuming the data logger is taking internal motor temps. For me, I was seeing temps anywhere from 210-220 from a 17.5

You want to keep it under 180.

Yeah you're running a little warm. What motor is it?

Whats the reason for the suggestion to drop the boost?
A safe starting point?

I didn't get the notice in my box, but I was a fairly early adopter.
What changed that made this addendum required?

Randy?

Thanks

DC

As far as I could tell, the first ~25 degrees of boost never had any effect on the RS.

its a trinity motor. So I would like to see internal temps of 180?
I did another practice run today just to see how gearing and timing affect motor temp. Track is an outdoor, medium size, with sugar sprayed. Track temps well above 130deg.

With my temp gun I always aim for 170-180 on the can after a run. And after data logging on RS g2 I would see a temp of around 200-208.

The timing boost is so much more efficient and effective in the RS Gen2. Because of this you simply do not need as much as before. The bottom end is where this improvement really shows up.

Yes, if you're seeing 180 on the can you will generally see 200 or so in the data log.
