Default my VDF 2 drifter build up

I didnt take alot of pics during this build but it seems theres a lack of drift threads here especially for those of us in the US. The drift thread is dead except for the Sakura
maybe I'll spark some interest

so heres a few shots from my build up

parts check

remember to seal all CF parts!!!

skipped ahead quite a bit as I forgot to take pics

getting there

threw in some electronics I had. I need to resolder everything its a tight squeeze

mounted up for a test in my apartment

some vinyl I picked up as a protector

to protect from scrapes an outdoor drifting

an idea I had to keep shock shafts clean

temporary practice body until I get the new lid painted and stealth mounts

A few more parts came today

still waiting on the new lid (toyota soarer) and stealth mounts to mount up my S15 body

post up some pics, thoughts, whatever

lets get slideways!!

Nice build.

Does anyone know if the manual for this car is available anywhere? The usual places (even Tamiya) don't seem to acknowledge its existance!

Cheers,
Chris

so far the build quality has been awesome.
for right now im not planning to run any CS I wanna try it out as a 50/50 car with a ball diff, then drop the one way in and do some tuning and then for from there. I havent grasped all the CS stuff yet and adding a 3rd belt adds complexity.
not to mention I have no idea where to get custom belts made lol.

the shock covers are actually made from balloons, I dropped the shock spring in a 2 liter bottle and put the balloon over the mouth of the bottle and squeeze air in the balloon and the spring drops in.
it does make it a snug fit when putting the spring back on though.

thanks Chris, I searched for the manual online before I bought the car too but it wasnt listed on the site. just the VDF.
if you need a part number or something let me know and I will look it up for you, or im sure you could call Tamiya and request one

Thanks Lucid, i was hoping for an online manual as i like to check out the build and parts, never mind.

Does the kit come with plastic or carbon wishbones / trans cases? From the blurb on the sites its hard to tell. Also are the suspension blocks alloy or plastic?

Thanks,
Chris
