I got some more work done on my SP-1 Canon/Porsche. Finished up the driver with a generic red/white paint scheme in keeping with the car's theme and added the tire branding logos. All that is left now is some wing decals. Those may take some time though so it will be off to the track for some testing tomorrow.

Well I finally got my SP-1 out on the track for some testing today. With the Pit Shimizu 574/572 tire combination I finally had a car on our track that can turn. Though it still has a bit of push so I was thinking maybe increasing the ackerman angle would help get a little more bite in steering. Which way do I shim the inner ball studs to increase ackerman? Do I add more shims or take the stock ones out?
Also as others have noted...I really hope Speed Passion is working on a better plastic. The stock plastic is just to soft and flexy. 1 fairly light tap pulled the steering knuckle right off of the pillow ball. This looks like I'll need a lot of spares so I just orderd 5 more from F1 Paint Lab.

My fellow sp1 owners. When ordering the replacement parts. Specifically, the front arm set. BE SURE TO ORDER TWO. When ordering one set. You will receive one upper and one lower.

I drove one yesterday, very impressed! I plan on picking one up soon for our new indoor facility!

Got the steering knuckle on mine replaced and back for another day of testing yesterday. I love driving this car! It is very smooth on our track with the 574/572 tire combination. I added another 1mm to the ackerman adjustment and got the car to turn in just a little better. Just enough to where I beat the F1 fast lap record by .25 Now I just need people to show up on race day for the class

I would never thought having the car slow down "GOOD" enough will actually give my car to turn in much better, sharper and eariler (faster) when I have not setup the brake (or even active the ABS system) at all....
For those who want to turn the F1 better...give it a shot on the ABS setting, it really does make a night and day different. I am sure it does not simply apply to SP1 only...I think it will apply to any F1.
