Hi;
I have just recived my esc/motor combo and installed it on my TC but don't drive it yet. It is stated that the motor is 263W . This is the biggest number I have ever seen compared to a brushed motor, and many people say it is comparable to 8-9 t BM. For example: LRP Fusion Phase5 8x2 is 248 W. How can be Vector slower than this Fusion? Are the power calculations different?

I see that the motor is called a '3 star' motor. Will other 'star' rated motors be released which have different characteristics?

Hi Dude...

May anyone pls advice on the appropriate gear ratio for TC4 FK ? rubber tires with short straights & tricky corners .. Majority of my spur gears were 64P with 100 to 102..

Thx in advance ..

28/101 will be undergeared .....( Slow)

start with the 33/101 if you need more top speed you will have to gear taller.

yesterday I started out with 28/94 ended up with 32/94 ..

If you gear taller than 32/94 , expect the controller & motor to reach Max temperature`s...
Would`nt suggest going taller unless you have a fan on the both the controller & motor....

You should`nt have to though , its very fast with the 32/94...

i was wondering about the coils of the vector. Whats the number of turns theyve got? i mean not the equivalent brushed motor, just the real turns theyve got.
and another thing i was asking myself was about the bearings on the vector. are they standart motor bearings or they are special ones?
i am waiting for mine but i would like to know about maintence of this little jewel of speed.

thank you a lot guys

It has 5.5 turns of coils. And the bearings are standart motor bearings.

thank you very much deepfree_z im gona stock some bearings extra for my neo one.
does it break more bearings than a brushed motor? i thought about this becouse of the high rpm this motors features.

I don't have such an experience. My bearings last equally long. But when the motor was new ( I mean right out of box) it has a little play around the shaft. It makes the motor very noisy and vibrating. The original bearings that I have are not a good quality. I change the bearings right after box...

Has anyone run theirs together with a Spektrum transceiver?! I'm curious to know if anyone has experienced any problems with this combo? A guy I know at the track got the Sphere and Neo-One about a week ago and at first everything was fine while setting it up, etc. Unfortunately, after running half way through his first pack at the track... the throttle gave out?! No problems with steering but his 4WD kit never ran again that day no matter how often he tried resetting the ESC. I heard he now has had to send it back in to AE for servicing. In my opinion I don't think the Spektrum caused the problem and instead the ESC probably was defective. The guy has a few Super Sport Novak brushless motor systems so he isn't new at working on these things. Anyway... just curious to know if this is an isolated incident or if a few LRP systems have had to be returned?

Also, is the Reedy Neo-One really a 5.5 turn motor (in Brushless winding terms?!?). Novak also has a 5.5 GTB but those that own both say the GTB is apparently faster!?!

One of the guys at the track has been running the Sphere/Neo One combo for a few weeks...Needless to say he's switching to the Novak. He blew 3 Neo One Motors. On the first, the Rotor blew apart inside the can. The other 2 the shaft shot through the endbell. I have been running the GTB with the 5.5 motor and that system is much more linear and smoother feeling. I was a hard core LRP guy until he started having trouble with the brushless motors and we both switched to Novak. Sorry LRP guys...just wanted to throw this out there. LRP is nice stuff, I've just scene too many issues.

Wow that's scary. I'm running an Sphere/NEO combo and haven't had any problems, but I've only run about 6 packs through it so far.
