Default Old XRAY T1 needs LOVE (what upgrades?)

I have an original T1 with the C-hub conversion kit fitted and a front one way (I also have the anti-roll bar). I want to race on this track: http://www.trcracing.net/ (click on the link “NEW TRACK”).

I was wondering what I should buy to bring the old T1 up to scratch.

Of these parts/upgrades, what are the benefits and are they really needed:

Newer bulkheads (if so which generation)
Shorter arms
Newer lower deck (if so which generation)
Newer UPPER deck (if so which generation/type)

Is there anything else worth mentioning? I have the newer (evo 2) shock tower mounts for the front, but not the rear as I am still running the old serpent shocks on the rear.

So basically, what would you guys recommend I do? Buy some parts to upgrade it, or buy a cheap second-hand evo 2 and swap and change parts as needed?

BTW I would be running a 23t "Asian" Stock motor.

The newer bulkheads (FK) have more adjustment and are MUCH lighter.

The short arms make the car more reactive and roll less. I'd say try both for a race-day and see which you like better. As for chassis that is also based on traction.

I'd say get some short arms and some spring steel front axles (I gotta go, hopefully someone picks up where I left off)

FK upper & lower deck, possibly XRC lower deck if your on carpet.

low ratio as stated above
FK bulkheads as stated
spring steel axles as stated
rubberneck bumper

thats about it, but for the price youre gonna pay for all that, you may just want to pick up a used FK.... theres a lot out there

The number one upgrade for the original T1 Xray I think is....a new Xray because that car is OLD, I would suggest the FK04,but the 05 is nice to.

I forgot. Low-Ratio set would be nice. Spring Steel axles are much more durable (the standard ones "mushroom" up in some cases)

I'd say run the car first. Then worry about hop-ups

I already run the car, but it was on a carpet track with no racing (no timing system) so I know I want some better stuff.

One question, how can you tell the difference between a evo 2 and the FK04? I am thinking about getting a second hand one like you guys said

bulkheads are different most easily distinguishable part of the bulkheads would be the evo has holes in the rear of the front bulkhead for the pball while the fk doesnt

The Evo2 bulkheads are also anodized whereas the FK04 bulkheads are not.

You mean the evo 2 are the sorta gold colour (of the orginal) and the FK04 is silver?

Default I was LUCKY

I talked to the guy I sorta know who is sponsered by Associated and he said (basically) shaft is better for stock, but belt is easier to drive. He said, if you can control the shaft cars, the times will be better, but belt is easier to drive, so it is more consistant...so... in the shop was a Xray T1FK04 that some guy build, apparently this guy has 4 FK04s at home. He built this one and never used it. It has a XRC chassis and wide upper deck as well as Hudy spring steel outdrives and a one way fitted. It is so new the battery foam wasn't even dented...

So I bought it. It cost $1500 HKD, which is 148.65 Euros or $192.497 USD. It is half what a FK04 kit would cost here new, but mine has the XRC and Wide upper deck etc.

I think this was the best way for me to go, because I already have spare parts etc.

I've attached a picture here. Sorry about the quality...it is from my mobile phone.
