Thats why I said to myself that when I used my 20c and 40c mostly for practice that's they most of the time felt faster and more snappy than the 65c that ive been using mostly for races, with the 20c sometimes feeling the fastest.. All of them are different manufacturers

Here is a good combo : Novak ballistic 17.5t with H/T rotor, red wire stator, ceramic Bearings..... Polish the rotor for extra rpms.....

Wich part of the rotor dou you polish? Is it done with water based sand paper or another polish method?

Since the rotor doesn't touch anything but the bearings on each end, how does polishing it do anything?

I polish it with metal gloss master formula. I think it's a water based polish....not sure....
Yes the rotor spins on Bearings but it still displaces air, which cause friction. That friction is reduced somewhat when the rotor is polished...

Bertrand, I'm probably going to regret engaging you on this, but I'm a bit baffled. You polish your rotor, but you won't turn up the endbell timing (you stated this in another thread a little while ago) ?

That's like doing an engine mod on a real car that only gives a couple more horsepower, but then sticking a brick under the accelerator pedal so it will never hit full throttle.

"busting his balls" because he often gives questionable advice. It's good for the entertainment factor, but rarely helpful.

It only takes five Minutes to polish your rotor if you already had the motor in pieces, and yes I won't crank up timing in my novak motors cause I get better results at N timing and higher gearing..... Polishing is just a better way to clean metal surfaces, and not new !!!
Anyways, thanks to the poster that understood the idea !!!!

Also, for club races(non Roar races) where the d3.5 17.5t is accepted, you can change your Novak ballistic stator to the new ULR 17.5t stator, which will increase the ballistic's Performance to par with the d3.5, and when you go to Roar events, you can switch back to the original stator... It's much cheaper than buying a new motor...

bertrandsv87's trolling is impressive to say the least.

Sorry, Novaks are the slowest motors and give nothing but headaches.

I'd recommend D3s, Sonics, and Revtechs before a Novak.

It's one thing to do something to your motors and another to recommend it to someone else.

In the last 5 months NOVAK has made large performance increases in stators and rotors that have made them as fast as anything else on the market.

+1...The Novaks are just as fast. And they can handle the Temps! You run a D3.5 at 180 for any length of time, she's gonna blow.

When I ran my Novak 13.5t with a 12.3mm rotor and Red wire stator , I was as fast as the d3.5's down the straight with no heat issues , although I geared differently then they did !!!! If the stator wires are the same, the Ballistic motors will be competitive....
