Revtech 21.5 ROAR approved?
Can anyone explain why both Trinity's revtech and D3.5 21.5 motors are sold as ROAR approved, but not listed on the approval list on roar's web site?

The LRP X12 is also not on the list.

Novak's high rpm 17.5 motor is similar as they claim "engineered to meet ROAR specs"...which is likely a very true statement, but its not ROAR approved yet (or wasn't last time I looked).
The Revtech claims "ROAR legal", which likely means that it is designed to spec, but no, its not actually ROAR approved. The wording they've chosen to use is misleading at best.

The other thing I have noticed with the ROAR approval list is the dates. The Tekin gen 2 motors just became roar legal but the approval date is October 1, 2012?

Most companies do not submit the 21.5's to ROAR for approval due to the high fees associated with it versus the actual sales of them since there is no "official" class for 21.5 at ROAR events. They are supposedly built to the "ROAR specs" for a 21.5 though just not submitted for approval.

As 21.5 is a fairly large market
I would think the cost of $350 + submitting 3 motors wouldn't be difficult to recoup for any major motor mfg ?
From a quick look at the list
Most known motor companies have ROAR approved 21.5's
Even the D3 21.5 is approved
Curious that the LRP X12 is not on the list

The cost of submitting a motor is pretty substantial because as well as the $350 fee and three motors, ROAR also wants proof that you have substantial stock as well. The old approval form used to also ask for proof that you had a minimum stock of 2000 motors of each type you submitted.

At my local track usgt and 17.5 were pretty equal in number of racers.
After what happened with the d3.5 17.5, our track has a new rule for this season of ROAR approved motors only. Now I'm sitting on 3 paper weights. d3.5 17.5, d3.5 21.5, and revtech 21.5.
