You raced the 2004 IFMAR Worlds there.

This is one of the A-Mains

Full throttle is a great track. Either track would of been a great location. Makes the repave job coming up very important.

The Worlds was under different management/ownership then so I was wondering what the current organizer had done lately.

I had attended the 2004 IFMAR worlds at the same track, although I understand under different ownership, and the race was pretty good. Both 1/12 and TC were held on asphalt on different layouts.
In any case it is great news and it might be worth doing the long trip all the way from Europe as a privateer.

Hope you can make it!

He's also supposed to repave the track.

Back in 2004 Scotty Ernst and I put a lot of work into making that race happen even down to the first day of the event. We had to overcome a lot of "difficulties" due to the track manager's poor organizational skills and unwise choices.

George, the new track manager is WAY more organized and effective than the previous guy.

To be honest I was pulling for Village Raceway too but no matter who got the race FL racers will rally behind the organizer and help out if called to.

Could not have agreed you more on the Village crew. ROAR still cannot get it right. Having raced at both tracks before, they are both excellent places to race on. Go Florida

That would be financial suicide, I would bet it is on the asphalt.

I remember seeing that but I don't see how that could be possible. The 1/12th Worlds has ~100 entries. Unless they want to blow their budget on that class they won't be able to do it.

Renting the space, buying carpet, the sub floor, boards that all adds up very fast.

Default The Worlds at Kissimmee Florida

Well folks it has been decided that the worlds will be at one of the best destination to vacation in the world. One of the things that made this location great before are some of the same reasons that make it ideal again. We have all the Disney parks, Sea World Parks and Universal Studios. Bring your family with you. This location is fantastic and offers many excursions for families as we race. Adrian Martinez did an amazing job with helping the owner of the track in 2004 whose name was Jorge Ruiz. Since 2004 Jorge has been no where and we have run an 1/8th nationals and many, many awesome events. George Martinez is the current track owner and is planning a lot of things to improve the track.

On June 5th 2013, Kissimmee will be repaved. Yes New Asphalt. Track improvements are all coming after the new asphalt. The one big thing that was in need at the track was the asphalt. It is old and has been used to its maximum for 8 years.

George and I have been brain storming about the future of Kissimmee and how to proceed with the plans for the 2014 worlds. We are working on the stage one report and plans on how to make this another wonderful event.

The 1/10th and 1/12th electric worlds will be held in Kissimmee and have two separate layouts for the two different classes
