The new ICC (hardware version 1.5, black faceplate) has improved, stronger spring design. On our local track couple of guys use it for some time now, not yet seen one with a problem. I agree the fan could be a bit bigger in it.

Default new design

That's great for the new owners who forked over $400. What about the owners of the original design where the springs were soldered onto the board? (by the way, the best way to fix it in the design was to use a nut and bolt through the board and run a jumper to the contact point in the circuit.)

Again, great idea, very poorly executed.

I found that if you do not give the springs any downwards force, they then to stay in place... as soon as the springs are pushed downwards the solder joints will break.

I was thinking about getting one of these but am unsure about a couple of things.

I currently have a Trinity DPD and have heard that the cell connections are the opposite way round for the Spintec to other manuafacturuers, is this right?

Logically the cells could be flipped over if this is the case (rather than changing the config) but i mount the corallys on top of the cells rather than on the side - would this stop it fitting into the Spintec?

Are there any alternatives from the Spintec that do individual cell charging?

Have you guys gave that a try?

I have been using the first version of the muchmore battery heatsink turned upside down. Three 40mm fans.

It dosent blow directly on the cells it draws the heat away.

As for peak settings I use .3 to .5 mv settings wih a pek temp setting of 55 degress celsius, and still put upto 5200mah plus in the packs

Had one pack go to 5650mah got someone to verify as I thought my eyes were not working.

can you turn the temp setting off on the icc or do you just turn it up and hope the cells peak off first.

Have you tried v1.07 software?

Also, try discharging the pack after it puts that in and see what the pack actually contains.

I set mine to peak at 56 degrees (but in reality, its actually about 50 degrees or so).... on version 1.07b. charging at 6A, i am still using old skoo gp 3300s, and peak setting at 2.8mv, this gives me pretty good results.

Default Cell matching

Hi

Has anyone tried to rematch their packs on their Spintec? If so what figs did you use?

I did 1 cycle on all my EP4200 cells and used the discharge secs and mah to match against.

See below for figs

Default SPINTEC ICC PROBLEMS

Only had charger a couple of weeks and have 2 problems.

1.Cells mostly thermal rather than peak 99% of the time.
settings.
a.charge rate 5.6 amps
b.temp 56c
3.cutoff 3 mv
charging 4 cell packs .

My biggest problem is odd cells peak long before they charged Have to stop charging and start again.
The cut out seems to be very sensitive and takes 3/4 charges to fully charge a pack,by then they have thermaled instead of peaking.Do i have a problem

You can try changing the cutoff to a lower setting I use .3mv and increase the temp cutoff voltage.

People will say cutoff temp higher but if you lower the mv setting the cells wont heat up as much at the end of charge.

I have no trouble with capacity due to low mv setting my packs ALWAYS have great power and runtime.

You may find that the packs you are charging are suspect, if they have been equalised before charge and they show signs of the inbalance between cells that you say this could be the case.

Dont worry to much about inbalance as one of the features of this charger is to charge each cell on its own, as long as the power is there and runtime all is good.

Imagine if you were using an ordinary charger and your cels were this much missmatched, one or more over charging some under charging?

Thumbs down GRRRRRRRRRR

I purchased a second hand ICC charger with old firmware. I began to update to 1.07 with it freezing at the end.. after sitting for an hour or so I bit the bullet and turned it off and back on...... and.. the two lines and no text showed up.. I retried upload the firmware.. but on the 3 computers and 2 cables I tried it on.... they wont recognize the charger.. I noticed the plug was loose and I resoldered it.. NO SUCCESS... I paid good money for what I hope to be not a paperwait.. 3 days with no response to the email I sent Erik and [email protected]. Beginning to think I wasted my money.
