Sorry for my english

Erko, italian racer
The charger with the Newer Hardware has a different arm to open and close the battery bars and is inside the charger and not on the outside as with the older one.

Don't know what you mean with "lever" or something, sorry.

i have read this:
- 5 cell option added (note: this also requires hardware update kit for
hardwareversions 1.4 and lower!)

so i asked you...

Default ICC cable

I got my ICC cable a few weeks ago from HorizonHobby.com

Ordered it on a Monday and received on Thursday.

Took around 4 minutes to update the software, from breaking out of the package to hooking up the cables.

Temp readings are still off a bit but I ordered the Integy twin fan (21.00) setup from Horizon at the same time and the temp readings are pretty darn exact with the extra airflow.

The combo of the MuchMore CTX-D2 and the Spintec is absolutely awesome for full battery care.
I just wish i could charge my transmitter lipo pack on this beast so I could get rid of my Int16x8.
Come on Spintec hook us up with that option

I only show my girl my ICC setup...

Autopeak = Yes
6 cell
temp = 118 F degrees
peak = .01 (i think going of memory) use the lowest possible setting
I use the step charge setup.. for 4200 cells.
5.2 amps - 1500mah
4.0 amps - 3200mah
6.0 amps - until finish.

i double up on the second phase because i don't think the spintec drops down the charge amp at one shot but gradually (just a hunch) that way it will cut down on overheating the batteries. this does depend on your battery condition. My batteries are pretty old but work great.

use a similar set for 3800's

i just wanted to know how u hook up the fans to the icc charger

hmm.. i am glad u also notice that... that the icc takes a while for it to lower its amerage... anyone try to lets say go from 6.0A --> 1.0A and see how long it takes this charger to do so?

There has been some discussion about cooling the cells while charging them.

For sure your cells will accept more charge but you must realize that the temp reading is on the outside and thus the cut off temp as well. But inside your cells the temp is now much higher.

This could damage your cells.

This doesn't apply to the ICC only but for any temp cut-off charger.

because the icc is peak detection? temp for safety only?

It uses both, whichever comes first.

But most of the time (with my IB4200's) the max temp is reached first.

So what is the verdict with the ICC charger? How does it work, and is it worth the money?

To make a long story short. Conventional chargers will always under- and overcharge cells when they use either temp or delta peak to determine the cut-off point.

With the ICC this problem is solved and your cells will get the charge they should get. The results in better performance and a longer battery life.

For me, this is the major feature of the ICC but is has more and even more options will come in the near future.

Only drawback: This is no "plug and play" charger.

Is it worth the money? Depends on how serious a racer you are. If you don't true your comm, or discharge your packs with a light bulb the ICC will be overkill.
If you enjoy high tech stuff then this is a great charger.

I agree. If you are a willing to put in the effort and time into this charger, its well worth your money.
