I would have to agree with above.. All the feedback Ive gotten from current users basically say>>>Go buy another GFX.. Glad I sold mine to get one of these.. Spintec claims the units work fine with 4 cell... but all the people Ive talked to using the latest revisions still say otherwise..

Do you know what version of firmware they were using?

Hi guys

I race Stock and have been charging on my Novak Millenium Pro at 6-7A.

What settings would you recommend for the ICC bearing in mind the extra current I charge at? I need every last bit of grunt for the 27t motors.

I used the ICC for the first time this evening ( I got it today), it was only re-peaking packs I did on the Pro from yesterday evening.
I set it to 5A as I was not used to the charger and the batteries did seem to get hotter than with the Pro, is this correct?

I saw the post with the following;

This is what most guys were using at the World Championship for their IB4200 cells:
deltapeak 4 mv
temppeak 49 degree C
min temp 45 degree C
current 5 amp

How relevant is this to me as they would have been running Mod.

If I were to use 'Step' Charging, what settings should I use?
Would step charging be any use in Stock?

PROBLEMS: I have noticed the external charge is limited to 5A, and the internal is limited to 7A, when all the advertising etc say's it should be capable of 10A!!!!!

Thanks
Skiddins

Yes, I have noticed that too, Skiddins, when I charge at 6A internal + 5A external... under the "system info." section, it says I am charging at 10A, but my math teacher taught me 6+5 = 11 not 10. Does this happen to anyone else??

Can someone please verify this? I have a suspicion (poor spelling i know), that during step charging, the current does not change immediately on the ICC...

for example... if i set the current to charge to

1. 0-2800 maH using 7.0 A
2. 2800-2900 maH using 0.2A
3. 2900 to 100% using 6.0A

(for charging GP3300s)

What I find is that.... the charger still completes step #2 very quickly... much quicker than what I'd anticipate when charging with 0.2A.

If the ICC doesn't make current adjustments immediately... I hope Erik can tell us how to compensate for this...

Default Question about setup

I am new to the forum and am getting into on road racing. Bought the Spintec and have some IB3800's that I will be using. I plan on racing stock once my skills get better.

What are the settings for the Spintec that people are using for Stock racing?

Thanks for any and all help

With the 1.05 software I have been using 2mv, 6amp, 120*.

But I only use this charger for peak charging. It sucks right now to charge a fully discharged pack. It will not restart a cell if it false peaks. The new 1.06 software is suppose to fix this problem.

Yes, with the new software it will just start, no problem. You also have a new screen in it witch is verry usefull, you can check everything in 1 view. I have had 0 problems with starting up with the new software. Also had 0 problems with charging 4cell packs for my 1/12.

I've had no problems charging discharged 3300, 3700, or 3800 packs with 105b. Will upgrade to 106 soon.

Can some of you tell me what results you were getting for the 'matched' status of your packs when charging and discharging.

My best results were 96.4% match when charging from a set of Factory Team Nosram 4200's, worst pack 82%

The best discharge match was 91.4%, also from some Factory Team Nosram 4200's, although not the same pack. Worst was a pack of Demon 4200 SHV's @ 85%

I have some 4200's that are more like practice packs. But I was getting 75% match with just a peak. But the pack was fine on the track. I do not discharge on the ICC very much. I have a MM CTXD that I use to discharge. And I use 2 Ice chargers for charging. Works for me.

I am not really worried about the final match as long as my packs run well.

I am waiting on the WC cell from my guys.

With my worst packs, I get 88,1%, with by best packs I get about 97%... Clearly you can see the differance, but they all work how they schould on the track.

I use a Spintec batteymanager V2 for discharging my packs with residu in them. After that I put them on my Team Wave Lightning equalizer.... almost no differance to the V2, but just to be sure. If you check voltage per cell, they will be almost the same (within a 0,01 differance after discharging) with the V2, also older packs.

My first charged match with 3700 and 3800 packs ranged from 93% to 97%. My old 3300s were as low as the 60s. I also use the BatMan and the packs all perform well on the track. I haven't yet discharged (equalized) on the ICC.
