Regardless of where the transponders are actually made, AMB-it is a European company.

I guess that is what I should have said. But if you read the article in RCCar action with Jiles Groskamp...He works at the AMB-It factory....So what ever country he is from is where I would asume they are made too.

The Netherlands is where AMB-it is located.

I do understand what you are saying. It is a monopoly so they charge really what they want. We will buy.

But one point here. You do not see the European cars prices getting jacked up. They have to be competative with the othe manufactors. AMB has no competition.

Xray increased their prices just recently due to a weaker US dollar. Case in point the XB8 went up over $100. The new fk05 is going anywhere from $370- $395. The Evo2 and FK04 where both much closer to $300.

I think Xray jacked their prices way up on the new kits....about 70.00 for the FK 05 and around 100 or more on the XB8. Corally has raised their prices as well because of the Euro value. Shumacher is the only European company to not raise theirs yet.

But your right...AMB does have a monopoly on their items.

Xray is a great car. But Slovaklia is such a poor Nation as a whole. The Hudys must be living like kings.

Some American company should make a compatible transponder. $92 is outrageous! I'll bet it costs less than $10. to make. I have a transponder in my full size car and it was almost free.

Not true, the price has doubled in Europe as well. Originally you could get one for less than 40 euro, now you pay 85 euro for one.

Sucks but you gotta live with it.

I can get them too for anyone for around 92.00 plus shipping. Email at [email protected] if interested.

There's no way, none, that you can convince me that the dollar is worth 1/2 of what it was just 5 years ago. Part of the reason is due to rising costs in other areas, but part is because they are the only game in town. I bought mine in 2000....glad I did....
