Radio reviews
I'm looking for a new radio. I deciding between the 3pK, Helios, and M8.
Which one would you perfer and why?

This is the exact question i'm think of too. I think i'd go with the helios or the m8. The helios has the tilt wheel adj. And the m8 is along time favorite. I don't know th em8 is going to be replaced also.

if you have not seen the other forum,they were talking about the m11.I currently have the m8 and i really like it.The helios is also cool becuse of the tilt wheel and it is slim.-lil' B

That's one of the reasons why i'm thinking about the m8. I don't want to say after a few months after i get the m8 say i want the m11.

Yeah the m8 felt really comfortable when i held it. I like how the wheel is positioned, But the wheel is very sensitive. But then again when i felt the helios it felt comfortable as well. But it can also be adj. It's just that the helios has so much features that i won't need. And the m8 i heard is very easy to learn. But the best radio i've ever held was the jr xs3 pro synth.

I found the m8 seriously top-heavy...felt like holding onto a hammer...(personal opinion)
I foundthe menu system inuitive, yet fully functioned on my 3PK...scrolling through the menus let you know what you were adjusting and adjustments were made easily...
the wheel position could easily be changed...youjust couldn't turn the wheel away from the body of the radio...
The XS3 Pro is a perfectly good radio..but it's still at a level slightly below the Helios, M8, R1 or 3PK

The m11 has a HUGE screen. But i like how the m8 looks better.

Its all about personal preference. If it feels right in your hands, then go with it. The M8 and the Helios are both good radios that are feature packed, and easy to navigate. I would recommend trying the radios out first, either hold them at your local LHS, or try out a buddies' radio.

I have really big hands, is this going to be a problem with any of these radios?

The M8 has been around by far the longest...and a lot of people have gotten used to the feel. It also has enough features, yet enough simplicity to work well.
That being said. Who cares what the pros run. Get the radio that feels right in YOUR hands.
You can't go wrong with any of the previously mentioned pro-level radios (note that the R1 has been discontinued and will soon be replaced, and the M8 has been rumoured to be replaced soon..and the announcement of the M11 with a very similar look may mean the M8 is on borrowed time)
