q on motor can timing
 

hi all, quick question I'm just getting into touring cars and I can seem to find an answer to my question, had a look through some threads but nothing really answered it, anyway, I wanted to now if you leave the timing on the motor can as it is, my viper and lrp motors have about 15 degrees or so of timing already on the motor, so when I go to change boost, timing ect. on my esc should I leave the motors timing alone or switch it back to 0 so all the timing is done through the esc settings?

As I understand it all brushless motors have timing built in because they don't run well at true 0. For your LRP use the 4 dot insert and get your speed from the boost. Start the Viper at 0 on the endbell and use the boost for speed. You can add timing to the motor to help performance, but do it in small doses and watch your temps.

cool, yeah I've been having probs with my viper overheating every now and then I'll try it on 0 timing and go from there, cheers for the advise!
