To me the blue looks like the wrong shade of blue for Tamiya, and the shocks definitely don't look like TRF shocks.

Well, there's the things you mentioned plus:
-surface finish
-rear drive axles
-chassis shape (most definately not 417x shape and it's even a little off from the original 416 chassis shape)
-rear diff
-battery holding system
-rear body mounts
-the whole front bumper assembly
-turnbuckles and ballends
-shock towers (mounting positions)
-screws (the original trf screws have some kind of shiny finish

And that's quiet much it
Regards

who cares if its a clone. race it the way it is and if you break stuff, replace with tamiya parts.

though.... change those tires lol.

Well, he should care if its a clone, especially if he traded a Summit for it! I'd be pissed if that happened to me.

+1

I found a video of one of those things in motion
Having seen that I really wouldn't want to race this clone.

+ YouTube Video

looking at the dampers and the ballcups i would say clone..

i had one of these 3 years ago, i replaced the diff internals, suspension and shocks to tamiya ditos and it was really nice (had those parts already, otherwise it would been a expensive kit)

do you think it is still worthy to buy genuine parts to replaced it one at a time??and would it be a direct fit?? going back on the video above mine is smoother than on the video, i have a tc6 which is about the same smoothness. i thought i had a great deal trading my new summit for it, really pissed me off..

Biggest thing that screams clone is the shock towers not being counter sunk....

Also, if you do decide to run it, check the right rear out ball stud, looks bent...

All the components to hold in the battery: carbon retainer, posts, thumb screws, and carbon strap are all from an associated TC5, definitely not Tamiya
