Default Basic Electric On Road Car Advice

So back in the day I had TC3 that I loved and used primarily for cruising in a parking lot and occasionally raced, I have recently moved near an indoor on road track and I think it would be fun to get back into some on road action. I just don't really know what to get I don't want to spend a ton but would like something that still has a decent aftermarket support/part availability . I was kind of looking at the TC4 roller I can get it brand new from tower for about $130 but I see that the TC6.1 is out so the TC4 must be ancient would this be a poor car for parking lot speed runs and the occasional carpet race? Any advice would be appreciated.

Tc4 is still a great car for the money!

My favorite inexpensive touring cars are the Spec-R S1 and the Sakura S Zero. Both of those are better handling cars than a TC4.

I am unfamiliar with both of those brands is that something a lhs would stock/carry parts for?

Are you interested in TC, or VTA?
IOW, what do you want to do? I'm teetering on the fence about getting a VTA car. The TC4 would be my choice.
Do an internet search for both the cars above to see what kind of parts support you'll find. I doubt an LHS would carry parts for either, but I suppose you never know.

Drive what you want. Bash when you can, race to win , but do it all while having fun.

I'm not really sure, VTA is foreign to me but if its popular I may want to try it eventually. I would like a car that could do all things well but doesn't have to be the best at anything if that makes sense.

TC4 is the way to go, club racer kit less than $150. Its still a very capable chassis, wide range of option parts, and most every hobby shop has the parts in stock.
