after much research i purchased an mt4 and i just received it yesterday. its a great mid level radio, has almost everything you could want in a radio. the only real downside to it is the receivers are expensive, so if you have multiple cars it can get a little expensive.

if you look in the electronics section of the forum there is a thread on the mt4 with tons of good info.

no real disadvantage other than receiever cost. I might stick to the rx744 for it at $89. or the mx sport if you really dont care about the speed.

its pretty feature rich but all the actually used functions are layed out in the menu quite nice. the layout of the dials and buttons is nice. the lever is in the better place than my m12 actually. one of the dials and trims were in conflict without the dropdown attachment, but never had that problem with the mt4.
with a 2s lipo is stupid light. like toy rc light. the lipo will last a MONTH between charges.
telemetry is kinda.. useless on this radio. the temp sensor can be made to work but the rpm is a complete waste. its too slow and so many things can mess up its reading.
so unless somone could provide a chart comparing speeds between receivers, i wouldnt bother with the rx461/2 unless you wanna use lipos with servos in a nitro car.
you could use rx 471 but i doubt the mt4 will realize the speed advantage.

you could compare this radio to the 4PL which is also a fantastic radio.

one thing id consider now is if the 4pl was backlit or not. This isn't and its not a BIG deal, but some indoor facilities have terrible lighting and the screen can be hard to read with the sun beating down on it.
you can add one aftermarket, but its definitely a nice feature to have.

Love my MT-4. No big difference against the big boys on track...

I use one...It's that best bang for the buck.
Also...If you run nitro the telemetry actually works.

If you were to run electric, get RX-462 instead. RX-461 telemetry will measure the Receiver voltage. RX-462 has a secondary wire so that you can connect to the ESC to measure the actual lipo battery voltage.

Try the 92524 reciever, less than $50. No telemetry but it's small and works perfectly.
Great radio for the $$$ 225 shipped right now on ebay with a 461 rx.
No worries about brownouts or glitching with anything Iv'e tried.
Tons of transmitting time out of cheapo rechargeable batteries too.
More "features" than I need.
I just wish the handle was more like the XL/CS2P's.

I think I won't use the temp Wire or rpm sensor for touring (reason:no time to check transmitter). Oh and what does the leaver represent?
