Wish you can add losi to the head count. I was looking at my type r and I can see how they can make minor changes to make it more Tarmac rubber tire friendly and a gear box.

Are those listed from best to worst?

I'm researching getting a TC but all the different options are pretty confusing. Heck half of those in the list I've never even heard of

Definitely not listed best to worst!!
Awesomatix
Xray T3 12, T4
Yokomo bd7 are at the top of my list, not in that exact order but be also only owned the xray platforms... If you haven't raced before you are going to crash and break ( I'm still not getting a clean run most of the time, but I do on occasion) and the Xray cars are strongest IMO.. AWESOMATIX is a super strong car as I've been seeing a lot of them lately, but for $800 for the kit I'd have to save my lunch money for a few months.. Yokomo is an awesome car too but much more fragile than the others and pretty much for seasoned racers..
Xray t4 gets my vote for top performer out of the box

Definitely not! I have owned a few high end 1/10th scale cars ranging from Tamiya to XRAY. I really enjoyed my XRAY but am now running the VBC Wildfire which just has amazing corner speed. I like this car a lot

I'll give you my standard "researching TC's" advice. If you plan on racing and are not familiar with TCs and TC setups then I'd go to the local track/shop...see what people drive and what is supported locally and buy that one. If you aren't racing, or can setup a car on your own, then buy the car with the features you like and one where you can get parts for.

All of the TCs on this list I would consider "competition grade"...some are better than others...

Thanks for the input, I've been racing offroad for a good long while, but we have a new onroad course pretty close to home so I've been looking into the TC.

The XRay, Serpent, and TC6.1 have been the 3 that looks the most intriguing to me. I plan on making a few visits once the track opens and talk to some local onroad and see what advice they have as well.
