Default RC car loses signal?

Hi there,
I have a flysky gt3b 2.4g radio system. Whenever the car is about 15-20 feet away from me, it just loses signal and rolls like it was turned off . The receiver cable's shrink wrap around the wire is torn, leaving the wire exposed. It has been like this way before the problem started. I have fully charged the transmitters battery, fully charged the car's battery, swapped out servo, tried to re-bind the tx to the rx, tried with a different ESC, but to no avail. If I use a bit of shrink wrap and cover the exposed wire, will it help?

My setup:
Hobbywing Ezrun 9t 35A brushless system
TowerPro MG956R Digital Servo
FlySky GT3B TX & RX
PowerHQ 5100 mAh NiMh battery

i have the flysky gt3b myself and have never experienced any problem, until my off roader took and extermemely hard hit and damaged the receiver. from the sound of it, you may have a damaged receiver. The flysky receiver is very cheap and probably retails about $15.you could try that, but make sure not to fray the receiver antenna this time.

I had the same issue with mine plus the antena was frayed, so I replaced the wire and doubled the length. Doing that solved my reception issues!
