Default Wish I could have come up!

Hey guys,

I hope the UF1 Midwest race goes great this weekend! I plan on making it to the Northwood round and hopefully more, but South Carolina is around 700 miles from this weekends' race and I chickened out!

Have a great time and try to post some reports on here or FB so we can see how things go...

Good racing,
Ned Schmaltz

What a great weekend of F1 racing. Overall I think things went very well. We had a few hiccups today with how I setup the schedule, but I think otherwise the weekend was a success.

Ned's timer worked out great once we figured out how to set the time. I will lengthen the wire for the pit closed lamp so the other tracks will have enough length to be able to see it better.

Day 1 Lon Burling was the man to beat. Well handling car and amazing lap times. Rob King's ride was just as good but an axle failure in the qualifying round put him in the C group.

Nathan,Rick,Snowy and other's were all quick.

Day 2 it was once again Lon out front grabbing the bonus points.

The midwest series is using a variation for points.

The midwest series is using a variation for points, with your total laps run in races 1-3 being combined to calculate points for the day.

Eric "Snowy" Schneeweiss grabbed the win for both days with the highest 2 day total. Lon Burling finishes 2nd and Rob King takes 3rd.
Thanks for the report!! Glad y'all had a good time and WAY TO GO II!

Had a great time this weekend at the track, met some great drivers who gave great advice. Hope to be on pace at the start of the next race weekend rather than chasing setups. Overall it was fantastic, great facility, and very impressive racing. Cheers

Stopped in as a spectator this time. I was Excited about F1 racing before I got there. Now after seeing it first hand I can't wait to put the finishing touches on my car. The racing was awesome. The pit stops really tip it in. Hats off to everyone responsible and everyone participating. Great show and really nice track Eric. Good Job. I hope it continues to grow.

I'm glad everything went will for the first round! Congrats to the winners! I hope everyone comes out and travels to Toledo for the second round!! We pull 18-20 local cars on our points races so I hope we can double that for our round of the UF1-Midwest series!

I had a great time last weekend eventough I had an unseen mechanical problem that resulted in a most spectacular breakdown in the second round yesterday. It seems that the screw holding the motor mount brace on the diff side backed out and was grinding the diff causing excessive heat and weaken/melted the CF axle causing it to weld itself into the diff joint and creating a break point at the diff housing/joint. When Addison tapped me in the rear on the straight it was enough to snap the already weakened axle. (Tamiya 104 V2)

You have to say it did look like an F1 car crashing.

I enjoyed meeting Brad, Mark, Lon and Addison and plan to give Brad more business soon.

Eric did a great job setting up the track.

What time do you anticipate the racing to be over with on Sunday? I start a new job that following Monday, dont really want to be getting home past midnight Sunday.

Good question, that may decide Toledo for me too.
