Default TC3 or N-4 Tec?

What do you think I should get? Asking for some opinions on which is best. I'm leaning toward the 4 Tec as I am familiar and trust Traxxas. I've never had an Associated, but the TC3 is convincing.

if your going to race, then buy the TC3. The traxxas car is not good on the track, it is a basher car

Ditto. Traxxas makes toys, not race cars.

Without brand bashing..... some facts:
The 4tec is very old design with some designs resembling early generations of hpi's rs4 and rs4 pro cars. Thats very old. As well this car has never been marketed as a race car, its basically a low end sport car.

The TC3 remarkably is an old design but its a race proven design that has been winning at national and international levels of racing. For the non racer this mean a car that is supported everywhere and a car that will win races with the right driver.

Its not a matter of trust of one company over the other. Traxxas has probably the best after purchase customer service there is. But you should not need sercive for either car..

IF your looking RTR they both come RTR, Again the TC3 is simply a better performing race car. That will double as a back yard basher. ITs shaft drive will be better suited over the belts of the traxxas ifyour running in less the clean areas.

As well regular maint work on the TC3 is much easier then on any belted car.

If your thinking about racing.. Skip the traxxas completely.

Performance RTR? Losi XXXs or AE TC3. There the only 2 to look at for "RTR" performance.

i notice your coparing nitro to electric, ill assume your comparing nitro 4tech to a nitro tc3. In either case KIT or RTR the NTC3 or TC3 is the better buy.

Got a low milage NTC3 with spares and turbo engine if your intrested?

Thanks for the feedback, I'll keep it in mind. As for your offer Joel, I'm not interested at this time. This is for a future purchase idea.

There is an electric 4-Tec with the Traxxas 21-Turn "Stinger" canned motor.

Ya thats true. The 20t motor is a joke though, any stock 27t motor will rock it.

Well..I changed my mind about going for a nitro...I'll invest in an electric TC4 so I can run it in the local carpet track league.

A very very wise move. Carpet racing is the best place to race year round..

I had not mentioned the TC4 as i though you where looking for RTR. Very happy to see someone build a kit for a change! Good job!
