There is also the Double Cardan Joint shaft option - but costs a lot more. I have the DCJs on my TRF417 and they are solid units. No chatter even at full lock, on power.
I'm thinking of going to DCJs when the front CVDs of my XV-01 goes south.
Here are the parts I'm looking into for the conversion:
DCJ kit: TAM42216
42mm shafts: TAM42239

Would the XV-01 pro cvd setup be the same for front and rear? The stock kit haa different axle setups front and rear? So will the cvds Forgetful Duck suggested work for the rear as well? I'll look into the DCJ kit but probably go the budget way with the TRF417 cvds. Thanks

The rears are shorter - 39mm swing shafts. Here are the part #s according to my manual:
39mm swing shaft: TAM53505 [BD4]
wheel axle (long): TAM19804648 [wheel axle long, BD5]
edit: look for this # instead: Tamiya 9804648

that makes sense but again I can't find the large #part for the long axles. Same problem I was having with the other part. I can find the shorter drive shafts.

Checked my Tamiya cross parts list and it shows this for rear axles:
TAM51513
Unfortunately I don't see a cross reference for the XV-01 Pro rear axles; just the Tamiya 9804648. If you want - PM me your email adress and I can share with you the cross reference parts list.

I'm about 90% through my build of the XV-01PRO TC... and I have noticed that for offroad (I know it's a TC kit, but hey ), the Reversible Suspension doesn't give you a lot of ride-height in the front... I'm going to put the longer of suspension holders but even then, it's not going to give me much... The arms hit the chassis at just a little under horizontal.
How was the older Pro kit, or the normal kit for that matter, in terms of ride-height on the front?
I know in this kit, it's the suspension arms hitting that are the limiting factor.
I'm not looking for stupid height, but just something a little more.. especially given that the weight is almost all in the front.
(ed) I've just looked at the manual for the original Pro kit. They've raised the suspension block holders just a little (1mm in the front and 2mm in the rear), this in theory should give me more leverage allowing more ride height. I guess I'll just give it a go and see....

Of the 3 hop ups i installed, the only one that offers a true benefit would be the rear shock tower which has 3 additional shock positions. The front shock tower doesn't have any new positions.. because of the design of gear box, its not possible to have additional mount points in wards.
