The db12r color or the nickel would be cool but don't go too shinny.

I agree, but they're shinny, is that not similar to the shinny nickel finish?

With anodizing how glossy the finish is depends on how the aluminum is before it is anodized. A polished aluminum yields a glossy finish on an anodized part...which is why you don't see glossy finishes as much these days as it takes an extra step in the process. But if you stick with plating...maybe a black chrome would give you a cool gloss black look.

I still like the idea of nickel with stainless screws though

I think i am going to do the nickel. Even when you polish or machine all the edges, anodize can still be dull because they etch the parts before plating. Cheap plating will not etch but then it scratches off easily. Thanks for your input guys
