He Marc!!
We had a good discussion here with some Belgian and dutch drivers.
Try to find out if it would be possible to allow both, 4 cells open and 6 cell 27 turns, at the M-Auto 12scale class.
We think this would be really usefull for 12scale in NL and BEL.
Have fun,
Markus

I already mailed those guys. They will only allow 6cell stock, otherwise me and a few friends of mine would be in as wel.

Same for me. It's too bad they will only run with 6 cells. Maybe they can change it for next season, so there will be more entries.

Guys, 6Cell Stock is almost as fast as 4cell modified. Trust me on this one, i've been driving 1/12th for more then 10 years.

Schrijf jullie toch gewoon in voor de M-Auto Cup. Ik rij graag een race met piloten die kunnen rijden. Trouwens, door de motor regel gaan de verschillen kleiner zijn dan dat iedereen met zijn eigen mod motor rijd.

Regards

What do you mean by "almost as fast", 0.5s a lap?

He guys!!!
Hm, thats really sad, why run a 12scale class with 5 people, when you can have 20??? Do not understand this, specially in the way, that people are buying more and more 4 cell cars in NL and BEL???
Thats weird?!

I'de really like to come and drive, but my RC12L4 only accepts 4cell packs! The same goes for my friends who have custom built 4 cell cars, and Carpet knives!
I really don't see why it has got to be 6cell stock, while all the world runs 4cells stock and mod!
I ran the Viol Cup in Germany last winter, and there 4cell mod and 6cell stock ran together, and although most races were won by a 4cell mod guy (who's just plain faster than anyone other in the field) there was always a fair share of 6cell stockers in the A-main!
There doesn't seem to be a big speed difference at all!

Exactly Markus, just look at all those 1/12th cars on the market today. Only Corally and CRC (6pack) still make cars that accept 6 cells, the rest only accepts 4 cells.
Those who (still) own a 6 cell car can easily switch to 4 cells, but vice versa you can't.
If you ask me the best setup is with 4 cells and a 19T motor, almost every racer has got that kind of motor, and with it you don't make the entry level that high as you do with mod motors.

I have to agree with that, there is no point in only allowing 6 cells stock, pretty strange that is....
This does not really help 12scale in NL or BEL. I also would be sure that some germans would run M-auto cup as well with 4 cells...

He Thijs ;-)
I think its not the time to make any specific rule, just let 'em run everything, this will do fine in the beginning.
If there is enough competitors in the future you can split the classes...

If you use an RC12L4 you can mount a L3 chassis on there wich is basicly the same as an L4 except it allows 6 cell.
Thing with 6cells is that the "regular" 1/10th drivers don't need to resolder their packs. As said earlier in this thread, for Corally there is no problem at all. The things you need to change with a Carpet Knife, i'm not so sure of. I'm sure Marcus (if he's the Marcus i think he is) can help you with that.
In truth, i never understood the 4 cell rule. If the gouverning body's think a 1/12th is to fast with 6cell mod then just make a motorlimit rule.

Just my 2cents.

If the M-Auto cup is 6 cell 27 turns only then maybe we can help out a little bit by limiting the 4 cell modified motor.

So, what modified motor equals the same speed on 4 cells as a 27 turns on 6 cells.

Maybe you could do a 4 cell 12 turns class together with 6 cell 27 turns. Maybe both have equal speed. Or 4 cell 19 turns.

Catch my point?

At this moment there are 12 1:12th 2WD drivers who have pre-registered.

Although I have always preferred 6-cell, I recognise 4-cell is the current standard for 1:12th scale.

The last thing I want is motor limit rules in mod class.

Hello all!
Don't make a motor limit, why make it complicated if it goes easy Marc.
12scale 4 cell is standart all over the world with no motor limit, why make
something else.
Also this will show most competitors....
