There was 1 CEFX in the B-final and some in the C- and upwards.

@johnbull: don't think Markus ever won the euro's! He was close many times tough...
I'm pretty sure Reto's list is accurate.
I'm just doubting about Andy. i thought he ran the Hammer kit?!
Anyone else can confirm this for sure!?

Andy Griff has used a mixture of the Hara Hammer and Associated L4 for the winter in the UK. Usually the Hara with 19 turn and the L4 with mod.

Andy G. was definitely using an AE 12L4 at the Euro's.

I understand that Markus Mobers use Fantom motor and Nosram speed control, does anybody know the brand of his batteries?

See you

I was there for the euros

Hall was freezing cold, track was bumpy, and a good demo of why 12th scale + roadrail doesn't mix.

But I still enjoyed my first euros and well done to Olly and Andy for making the A.

Swifterbant Bumpy?? NEVER

I couldn't believe they were hosting the Euro's but thats what happenes when we the drivers don't support one of the best racing classes ever!

One thing that can be said in favor of the Swifterbant club is that they are nice people.

I went there to race 4 years in a row and enjoyed it very much. Bear in mind that i had to get out of bed at 5am to sit in the cold the entire day and then have a 2 hours drive home. You don't do that if the atmosphere sucks.

I have written an eyewitness report about this thrilling race. It's on the NOMAC website and you can find it here: Race Report EC 1:12 '97
It's in english so all of you should be able to read it. The race was won by Erik Jonk who now heads the Spintec company.

I have a full report on the EC in Swifterbant. It is in dutch but at the bottom is the TechChart.

And it also hosts the full results and foto's

Marc, I think they are referring to the 1998 Euros when Markus finished a very close second to David Spashett. Apart from finishing 2nd in the Euros multiple times Markus also made the 12th scale Worlds A-final in 2000 and 2002.

You might be right. In '97 it wasn't 0.2 sec, it was 0.04 secondes.

Hoi Markus,

In '97 I had driven a long time to see Erik in action (we were lost twice) and was cheering for him ofcourse (we both come from the famous TapijtKevers club).

But even then I felt a bit sorry for you for being so close to the title in fromt of your home crowd.

I'm sure you still remember that last lap last corner attempt...

He Marc!
How is it going? Hope you are fine.
Oh yeah, sure, I do remember
Man, I was shacking after the final, too much
adrenaline

But, Marc, I loved that time, the good old 1/12
times, specially the time in Dordrecht/NL.
I do not want to miss any of it!
See ya at the Euros in Italy next time!?
Markus

P.S.: Get Erik to run 1/12 again
