Talking Electric 4-tec super touring. HELP !!!!!!!

Hey guys I was trying to get some information on the 4-tec elc.
I came across 2 of these cars in mint condition and I was able to trade
And get them . They are bone stock without batteries , I had considered
Converting it to brushless . I mostly want to just do speed runs with it . Was
Just curious to what all I will need to do to get it brushless and what I should get. the velineon Or mamba monster set up . And what type of batteries to use while its stock. Thanks.

I heard the 4-tec came with plastic motor mounts. If that is the case, its better you upgrade to aluminium motor mounts before you go brushless.

Thanks for the tip
Yea I'm
Worried about the motor
Mounts and all that . I'm curious if the cars
Drivetrain can handle that amount of torque
And I figure the ecs will be rarely simple
To mount but I bet the motor will be diff

its better you dont go for something too powerful. I think the drive train can take it, but will probably wear out in year and you will have problem getting spares. A EZrun sensorless 9T combo should be good enough. Not that fast but not slow either.

Ok bud thanks I will look into that combo . I'm wanting
To build a car that will run 60 or 70 ish . Do you think
That combo would produce those numbers or
Would I just have a lot of problems trying to run
That old car those speeds . I seen where these
Are advertised to run + 40 stock with 7.2v battery . Idk about
All that sounds far fetched . I Havnt had the chance
To run them yet because I haven't bought batteries
Yet .

The 9T combo will not give you those speeds. and besides that if you do attain those speeds, controllability might be an issue. If you are just running at will in a parking lot you can just put in something more powerful. But if you wanna drive it in a circuit with other cars, then you need a car that handles somewhat ok. The 9T combo will probably only give you a top speed of 30mph.If you want faster then go for the EZrun 5.5T combo. Get sticky tyres cause its no use to have fast but uncontrollable car.
Its always better to use the aluminium motor mounts no matter what.
I do have a traxxas 4-tec track report from Rc Car action if you are interested.
My advice is just dont think of speed, but factor in drivability too. Dont forget at 60-70mph your tires will wear out very quickly and any hit will damage your car.

these cars suck! I hate them with a passion. I hate 2 of them and they were so out of control. at high speeds they don't handle and drive line was good for breaking . they are great for slower speeds or beginners with a lot of space. imo

If I get the xl5 esc and a Titan 12t 550 motor and just run a 2s lipo . It should be quicker then stock right . What will I need to do about the transmitter and reciever ?

before you unplug the receiver connectors take note of the wire orientation, black, red, white(or blue).

I got a Titan 12t motor and xl5 esc I removed old msc . My reciever and 3 plug in slots where 1 servo plugs in for steering then another one plugs in for throttle then another coming from out side of msc labeled battery . I installed xl5 but now only have 1 wire from steering servo then the one coming from esc that I plugged into batt plug on reciever . When powered on I have steering but no power ( or control) over motor . Could someone explain to me what I need to do here thanks ...
