YR4Dude, if all you plan to do in this thread from now on is bitch about the price of the Kyosho cars then you may as well pack your bags now. Kyosho's top competition cars have been premium priced for some years now.

We've known ever since this car was announced that is was going to be expensive. Kyosho USA gave a "street price" of $550, Kyosho Japan published JPY 66,150.

Bear in mind that UK prices include VAT (sales tax) at 17.5%. Excluding the VAT our price is very competitive with the best in the USA.

If we sold them with the industry standard markup they would be 430 - we know they would never sell at that price which is why we have cut our margin to the bone to offer them at 354. This is very similar to the list of the special edition Cyclones and Yokomo BD in the UK.

Of course, if you wanted to buy one from us tax-free for export, I'm sure I could pop round to the pharmacy and get you a free tube of lube too...

Sosidge - You're right. This thread should be about the car and not about its price so much.

I will say this and no more.
It was XRay that pushed the TC market into what we see of it today. However, it was the the effectiveness and durability of their design and product that set the TC world on fire.
This is not to promote XRay but to use it as an example.

Although I am relatively happy with my TF-5 shaft drive, it doesn't seem to me that its belt drive derivative will perform that much more different such that it would set the world a blaze. However, if and when it does, Sosidge, I will take you up on that offer.

Well, another pleasing club meeting for me with the shaft car. 4 race meetings under it's belt now and the transmission seems to have settled in nicely.

The consistency and corner speed this car has compared to my old Yokomo is a delight. Managed to TQ and win again, with at least 0.5sec a lap advantage over a fellow racer who was fairly evenly matched with me when I had the Yoke.

Slackened and retightened the lower chassis screws which seemed to cure the torque steer of two weeks ago, braking in a straight line was a real advantage around the layout.

Still using the kit setup, minus anti-roll bars and with a diff. Considering going up to the Yellow rear springs (#32), or reducing the rear toe to try and generate a little more on-power steering.

Don't worry, the USA shipment is not too far behind. I just received an Instruction manual, so that usualy means the car is not too far behind.

This looks as if Cyruls car is being developed further...any news on a release date? Looks good....I like the centralized motor.

It's not gonna be released anytime soon, maybe not ever. This is a lab car to try new design solutions.

Sorry Tim, I'm already committed to Sosidge if I feel the need to choose the belt version over my shaft car.

Tim,

Now that you have the manual, is the steering mechanism the same or similar as on the shaft drive? (dual posts with servo saver and bearings)

Thanks,
