1/10th Factory Mod is an oval class. He uses his own CEFX C10ss.

I thought he might use a CEFX derivative.

NICE!!! Almost like a CF version of the TA-05. I like the mid-motor placement. Belts are probably identical too. I WANT ONE!

The rear belt is shorter than the front belt.

That last prototype had too many "finished" parts to be a preliminary design model. It definitely was a "pre" production unit. If there were any "design" changes, it would have been very minor or cosmetic. So like I said before, get ready, its gonna be here sooner than you think. However it won't be cheap. Plan on laying out five bills at least. If you don't have it, better start liquidating your unwanted stuff now.

Steve - when will you be starting the pre-order?

Kyosho has always been very expensive, even back in the day so I don't the price for their new touring car being any different as I would be surprised if they sell it cheaper than 399. Also wonder how parts support will be when the car comes out with no distributor to order from as you need to order from Kyosho directly. This has been a problem at are shop when ordering in heli stuff. Be interesting to see how this is all handled.

Nobody said preliminary....it would have still been easy to do a change tot he chassis layout with redesigned bulkheads and CF pieces...the suspension and drivetrain, I agree looked production level...

Looking at the shots of the underside of the chassis though, the chassis looks even wider than I had suspected...

Kyosho stuff was always expensive because of Great Planes. As for distribution, I thought Kyosho America is handling the distribution on their own. Anyways this touring won't cheap simply because of the nature of the beast.

However, their other products have been priced very low. Take for instance the Inferno GT which I have seen priced about $350 or less in contrast to the lesser quality OFNA equivalent GTP at $400 plus. Also, the Gigacrusher SF kit was priced at about $500 when distributed through Great Planes but is now available as an RTR distributed through Kyosho America for $400 or less at your LHS.

I think Kyosho America is gonna do some great things for Kyosho that has been unexpected for a long time and that is to bring great products in quickly and at a very good price and value.

As easy as that would have been, it will be just as easy to re-program the CNC with a new CAD file to make the production units. The only delay would be from the decision maker in charge for its production.

Like you said, ChrisP, the car isn't "production level" or finalized (as far as we know), yet. So, the final lower chassis might be slimmer with more cut-outs. We'll have to wait and see. I do agree... the car looks VERY close to production, if, isn't already.

It does look like the chassis is extremely wide. I doubt that it can be narrowed due to how far apart the motor and the batteries are because of the design of the center bulkhead. Looks much further apart then on the cars that look like a 415. Also looks like the front and rear bulkheads are the same pieces. The thing I like about looking at it is I don't see where addition "hop-up" parts would be needed.
