The parts run in Cleveland were one-of prototype parts...

Once the design is finalised and agreed upon(which may have been done already..itmay still be in process) Molds for production level pieces will need to be made...parts will need to be produced and then trials on the production level parts can be done. Changes would then be made as required.

From that point, production, packaging, documentation, marketing and distrobution all need to occur..

These processes can be streamlined a *bit* but not by a huge amount..

Long story short...even once the car has design approval it would still take some considerable time to come to market....

Hi Guys,

I did notice something while assmebling Kyosho's latest 4WD off-road buggy, the ZX-5 that there were quite a few parts in the kit that were not used, that looked like they were for touring car (center spur gear adapter, center drive cups) Also, when you look closely at the kit, if you change the suspension component to touring car width (universals, suspension arms, turnbuckles) and change the shock tower and to touring car shocks, I think you actually will have a touring car here (surprisingly the wheelbase of the ZX-5 is not much longer (if any) than a regular touring car) so maybe a Kyosho touring car is not far away afterall?

Steve you are right. We (Kyosho) plan on releasing a shaft drive car called the TF-05, in the Japan market. Currently their are not plans to release this car in the USA. But things can change.

Can you tell us what your name is and how you know so we can know if this is reliable info? With all the false rumors about cars it would be nice to know the source. Thanks.

I am not sure how much from the ZX-5 will work, as i do not have the car in my hands. If you can read Japanese, pick up a copy of R/C World, December issue. It has a nice run down of the car.

Hi Tim,

Nice to see you on R/C Tech. I hope things do change as it would be nice to have a major manufacture like Kyosho involved in the TC scene here in the states as well. Seems like you guys have already developed a loyal following and it would be nice to build on that momentum

I will be interested in the new touring car if they are going to be easier to get parts for than when at Great Pains!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They never had 1/2 the Kyosho stuff in stock when I needed parts and was very frustrating.

I'm sure the car will be dialed when all complete.

Steve,

You seem to be able to get things that are hard to find or rare in the states. Any chance you would be able to get the Kyosho TF-05 even if it is a JDM only release? I would be interested in getting one, but do not want to go through ebay or an over seas hobby shop. I rather buy it from someone I trust like you. Any info on this?
Thanks
Drew
