Again... this isn't a fashion show, this is racing. You don't score any points for "being different". You do, however, score points for having a fast car and being a talented driver. Those two things are not mutually inclusive, though, and a good racing program addresses all aspects equally well.
Choosing your equipment based on the fact that "no body else do" is beyond the scope of my comprehension. I'll just leave it at that...

I posted on the first page suggesting the Schuur Speed 17.5, I use this motor in offroad and it has no problem hanging with people running the D3.5. I'm the only one at my track using this motor and I get asked all the time what motor I'm running because it has no problem running people down.

update..i ran da trackstar motor & gear it around 3.8 full timming..& it was jus as fast as da D3.5 motors..coming off around 155- 160*my Question now is da brushless motors need 2b broken in..like brush motors did?

ok thats what i thought...but it just seems like the more u run'em the faster it gets...& this came from some of the fast guys at my track

Depending on application, I would also recommend a Murfdogg Synergy motor. As mentioned many motors offer great performance and all have a sweetspot for endbell timing and gearing.

I have a trackstar 17.5 as well and used it this weekend in 1/12. I had complaints from everyone on how fast it was. Even the track owner came over to check I was running blinky. I took the entire motor apart last night to clean it for the first time. The rotor is painted black and drill balanced (like they used to on brushed motors). The rotor also had alot of magnetism / more than usual...and it's small. My cheap verniers measure it at 12.2mm. Which is probably why it's good on 1S...small rotor = higher RPM. Good for crazy rollouts in 1/12 blinky.
It is not ROAR approved but I had a clear advantage so I felt I needed to put back in my original motor to keep firends.
